-Saul gathered 3000 men from all Israel
-rock near the Dead Sea
-possibly a false prophecy
-why was cutting the corner of Saul’s robe a big deal?

-His robe would not be in compliance with the law, a symbolic meaning
-David was grieved because he had went against God’s anointed

-How did David address Saul?

-evidence of loyalty
-David respected Saul as King, because of His reverence for Yahweh as God
