Intro: Since the entrance of Christianity into the world, it has been met by opposition from all sides and in every era that it has existed in. The reasons for the persecutions that Christians have had to endure have varied. In the first century, Christians were persecuted by the Jewish people for claiming Jesus was the Messiah, someone who they didn't want to be the Messiah. They were persecuted by the Romans, being called atheists, for the suggestion of there being only one God and only one Lord, who wasn't Cesar, but Jesus Christ alone. In the early 4th century, Christians were still persecuted by Rome for not following the an edict that everyone preform sacrifices to the Roman gods, which we refused. In the 600’s, Christians were persecuted by Islamic forces by disarming Christians living in their areas, forced to wear clothing that distinguished them from Arabian people, told they were not to undertake certain professions, and banned all preaching of the gospel. why? Mohammed was Allah’s true prophet, not this Jesus they claimed was Lord and God in flesh. Christians would be later persecuted for daring to suggest to the catholic church that the Word of God should be available to all people, not just the priests. This would cause a number of them being burned at the stake. Persecutions would continue in many forms for many reasons, from the French Revolution, to the Boxer Rebellion, Nazi Germany, and Stalin’s Russia.

So, this gentleman asked a question ...” Members of the crowd interrupted him, shouting, “She’s a woman!” McConnell replied, “No, this is a man,” prompting a female member of the crowd to shout back, “She’s just as much a woman as me!” McConnell was arrested under section 4A Public Order Act 1986 and convicted for “offending” a member of the public in Leeds City Centre on June 8, 2021, according to the group, which said he was reported to the government’s counter-terrorism watchdog, Prevent, by the Probation Service, and ordered to pay a fine of $734 (£620) and do 80 hours of community service.

Fired From Job For Refusing LGBTQ Training

In 2018, Raymond had been working at BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) central business office in New York for seven years and was even promoted to senior account clerk. A week later, he found himself fired from his job. The reason; Raymond refused to take part in a mandatory LGBTQ training session. Raymond Said that his rights were violated for, “no other reason than his refusal to be indoctrinated with anti-biblical teaching.” So, Raymond took them to court and argued that the LGBTQ training was, “aimed at changing his religious beliefs about gender and sexuality.” Since he was a devout christian, he believed that this was against his religion that proclaims certain truths about human sexuality. On Monday, March 13th of 2023, the Manhattan-based 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals rejected his case and agreed with the employer. Of course, this would seem to smack right in the face of the nations constitutional rights, and being quite disappointing with the ruling, Raymond said, ““It just seems like the country is against the Christian way of life, and it’s for everything else. We’re not allowed to practice our way of life but anyone else can, it seems.”

expect that as we go into this season of spiritual warfare, to have to preach the gospel in a different way that you're use to. as the times change and the ideas of the culture shift into inventing new forms of evil, expect the church to be there on the front lines, proclaiming the truth of God, while new laws are made against its speech and we go from meeting in public buildings to the basement of houses, full circle with the first century.

expect God to win the culture war with the gospel. let us not think that the gospel has lost its power to reach these people. when they are most offended, that is a good sign that something is clicking in their head because great transformations from the gospel being preached start with someone being the most provoked.
