Welcome:

1st Time of Prayer, Father in Heaven.

The Lord’s Prayer:
9
“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11
Give us this day our daily bread.
12
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

We are privileged to be able to call God our Father.

We are children of God through adoption.
Ephesians 1:5 “5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,”
Galatians 4:6 “6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!””

God is enthroned in Heaven above all other rule and authority.

Psalm 103:19 Yahweh has established His throne in the heavens,
And His kingdom rules over all.
Central takeaway:
Likewise, we do not cry out to a powerless earthly father, but to the Lord of all, God almighty who is over all things.
God is our Father and He is over all. Our prayers do not land on deaf ears, but the ears of the King of kings who loves us and has purchased us with His blood. This should give us joy and great confidence!
Let’s take time now in our opening to thank God, the Lord of all, whose rule is not shaken for choosing us, loving us, adopting us, and hearing us!
Transition to singing:

2nd time of Prayer, Hallowed be Your Name.

Amen.’]

Our Central Cry is Holy, Holy, Holy!

Isaiah 6:1-4
In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, with the train of His robe filling the temple.
2
Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3
And one called out to another and said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is Yahweh of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory.”
4
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called out, while the house of God was filling with smoke.
We join in with the cry of Heaven. We cry out that God is holy!
Let’s take some time to pray and lift God up as holy.

Our Secondary cry is for God’s kingdom and His will.

10
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
We are not here to build our kingdom. We are here to see God’s kingdom come.
Likewise, it is not our will we want, but God’s. Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares Yahweh.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
In the same way, this is not an ethereal will. It is here. We pray for God’s kingdom and will here on earth. We want to see God be obeyed here.
Let’s take some time and pray for the kingdom to grow and for God’s will to be done here on earth, at large but also personally in our own lives.
Prayer:
Transition to 2nd time of Singing:

3rd time of Prayer, our needs.

Matthew 6:9-13, The Lord’s Prayer:
Amen.’]

We can pray for our earthly needs.

11
Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:25-34 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?27 And who of you by being worried can add a single cubit to his life span?28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’32 For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Philippians 4:19 19 And my God will fulfill all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
WE have no need to worry. God, in His kindness gives us all we need. This should give us confidence. Scripture nowhere promises to give us all our wants but God will give us our needs.
Let’s take some time to pray and ask God for our physical needs, and remember, we are praying to our good and gracious Father who owns the entire universe.
Prayer:

We can pray for our Spiritual needs.

12
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
We can bring every sin to our good God and know He will forgive us. This is wonderful news! We can be forgiven. But this comes with a warning. God forgives us as we forgive others. If we withhold forgiveness from others, we will not be forgiven.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Let’s take some time and ask God to examine our hearts and reveal any unforgiveness in our hearts. And if there is, forgive those people.
Prayer forgiving others:
Now let’s go and pray and ask God to forgive us. We all are sinners. We have all sinned even today, even this hour, even this minute. But here is the hope! We have an advocate with the Father. Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for us! There is no sin that cannot be forgiven! Let’s go to God who is gracious and kind! Confess your sins. And ask God to keep you from temptation.
Prayer confessing sins:
I cannot forgive you, but let me tell you this. Beloved, your sin is forgiven. Jesus Christ has washed you clean! By Jesus Christ our Lord, I tell you, you are forgiven, completely. Let’s sing again in worship and praise of this wondrous truth! God has forgiven us! God is our advocate!
Transition to 3rd time of singing.

Final Time of Prayer: Confession of the Truth.

Matthew 6:9-13, The Lord’s Prayer:
Amen.’]

We pray, confessing these truths:

The Kingdom is God’s.

The Power is God’s.

The Glory is God’s.

Let’s close tonight in prayer confessing this.
Our God, we confess that yours is the Kingdom! It is not ours, it is yours! We ask you to grow your kingdom. WE cannot grow it, but you can. It is all of your power. WE confess that Yours is the power. WE are week and broken. You have all power. Work in us Lord, work in your church Lord, work in your world Lord. And do it all for your glory. For we confess you deserve all the glory. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
Now, if you would permit me, I would love to close by reading a prayer written by an anonymous puritan.
“GOD THE SOURCE OF ALL GOOD
O LORD GOD, WHO INHABITEST ETERNITY,
The heavens declare thy glory,
The earth thy riches,
The universe is thy temple;
Thy presence fills immensity,
Yet thou hast of thy pleasure created life, and communicated happiness; Thou hast made me what I am, and given me what I have;
In thee I live and move and have my being;
Thy providence has set the bounds of my habitation, and wisely administers all my affairs. I thank thee for thy riches to me in Jesus,
for the unclouded revelation of him in thy Word, where I behold his Person, character, grace, glory, humiliation, sufferings, death, and resurrection; Give me to feel a need of his continual saviourhood,
and cry with Job, ‘I am vile’,
with Peter, ‘I perish’,
with the publican, ‘Be merciful to me, a sinner’. Subdue in me the love of sin, Let me know the need of renovation as well as of forgiveness, in order to serve and enjoy thee for ever.
I come to thee in the all-prevailing name of Jesus,
with nothing of my own to plead,
no works, no worthiness, no promises.
I am often straying,
often knowingly opposing thy authority,
often abusing thy goodness;
Much of my guilt arises from my religious privileges,
my low estimation of them,
my failure to use them to my advantage,
But I am not careless of thy favour or regardless of thy glory;
Impress me deeply with a sense of thine omnipresence,
that thou art about my path, my ways, my lying down, my end.
Amen
