Intro

We completed the Gatekeeper series, but I want to deal with something that can help some of us further our walk, Cleaning our house. One of the things that I believe is vital is learning how to identify what is in your house. Today we will talk about David.
Why David? He was a man that had an uncontrollable flesh and desire for sexual attention.
This one account would grow into something far greater than just one steamy night on the rooftop. It would end up intoxicating his male children and violating the one daughter that was talked about the most during his lifespan, Tamar.
We think that a fault of ours is something that comes back in a way that we have dealt it out, but in reality these things will always mutate into other things far worse.
For instance Amnon faked sick to rape Tamar, then Amnon sends for his servant to come to put her out after violating her as if he was taking out the trash, Absolom catching wind of this and Tamar having to now live a life of desertion never to be with a man ever again… Imagine that being your first and last encounter?
Absolom then waits a full two years takes him aways from the kingdom gets him drunk and then has him killed. Absolom leaves home for 3 years because of what he had done, then returns to Jerusalem completely exiled from his father though they lived in the same city, now picture that one…? It like saying you’re dead to me even if you are still alive in the same vicinity.
David’s friend Hushai helps David set up a diversion to distract Absolom from trying to plot and kill David little did he know that his father already knew what he was up to. Now if only Absolom had remembered where David’s fall took place (the rooftop) he would have discerned that they were on to him. He not only gets into his father’s chambers but he is on the rooftop with his concubines… His father is a man of war, so this is his wheelhouse and not only that but he was anointed FOR WAR and to protect ALL OF HIS KINGDOM.
Absolom is speared to death by Joab and Joab’s armor-bearers. They then took King David’s son and buried him under stones all because Absolom wanted his father dead only to end up dead.
Then there is Adonijah who tried to set himself up as king while his aging father battled in his body while still in office. Eventually Solomon would have him put to death for trying to conspire against him as he had their father. (1Kings 2:24)
Building an altar is important when Cleaning House it says I am ready to start this life afresh from this very moment.
David’s reign was 40 years.
When God’s has plans for your house know that it was intentionally set out to be strongly established.
1Kings 2 is a strong testament of what it means to CLEAN HOUSE. Before we can move into a house there must be a deep cleaning of the house.
How many people just move into a house before cleaning it, I mean like actually living in it with the former people’s things still in there?
Solomon completely cleaned the conspirators that were in the house before him being able to reign, not even knowing that what he was about to ask God for, God had already given him in this chapter.
How many times do we ask God for something concerning a situation or a move and He brings back a very recent situation that bring a level of enlightenment and revelation from?
Like here you are looking for wisdom concerning a thing and you just got out of a situation where God now brings it freshly back to you like,” here you go these are the lessons you should have taken away from this situation,” but instead there are times where that is not good enough and you need a fresh situation with the same premise, HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??? Easy we do it all the time, it is time that we rid ourselves of repeating cycles that are no longer healthy for us.
Solomon had a conversation with his father before he died, but what we don’t see here in that conversation is how he was betrayed, conspired against, how his daughter was raped by one of Solomon’s brother’s, and how priest and other countrymen betrayed their king, his father for the delusions of his brother Absolom.
Your ability to reign in the earth will not come without you putting the things to death that are constantly trying to hinder your progress.
Things:
Conversations of doubt and disbelief. Applying what people say about you negatively. You are not their views or thoughts.
Your past failures and mistakes. Yes they may have happened and they may have even happened with people that you once knew. Disconnect from them establish great space from you and the ability to conform back to the mistakes that you once made. Habits are made to be broken if they are unhealthy it is time you divorce yourself from those people, places, and things. People love to hang the old you over your head, leave them where they are.
Family. Guess what family can be your biggest enemy, and if you are not careful can keep you from progressing in your purpose.
Solomon had to literally CLEAN HOUSE!!!

Attic and Basement Dwellers

There are things that lie in these places that many of us fail to deal with. Why? Because they are out of the sight of our every day operation, but what if I told you what is under you and over you was holding you back?
That the faulty foundation that you have been built on was a lie that was laid by your family or from events and secrets that have been buried from your existence in plain sight? Or how about the reason why people hold things over your head and you think about them so much is because you actually have established a belief system from their judgements and critiques of you?
David had so much that he could have told Solomon that would have better help him Clean House, but all he left him with was the orders to build the temple. he actually left Solomon to do a job he himself was supposed to with the neighbors that he left as “guiltless” only for Solomon to give them the death penalty.
Anybody or anything that is in support of your ability to carry out your purpose must be cutoff from your life. Solomon set the tone moving forward as it would set the precedence of never to come against the Lord’s Kingdom and His people ever or death will sure follow.
We have to make GREAT EXAMPLES of anything that God gives us the tapes on and why it should die, AND HOW IT SHOULD DIE!!!! God is a great orchestrator in all that He does, we must always remember that.
There were things of his father’s past that needed to be taken care of that King David did not take care of that he could have, such as Shemai he was wrong for putting Solomon up to killing him when it was clearly during his reign.

Grace to Clean

Thankfully Deut 5:9 says
Deuteronomy 5:9 M:BCL
9 Don’t bow down to them and don’t serve them because I am God, your God, and I’m a most jealous God. I hold parents responsible for any sins they pass on to their children to the third, and yes, even to the fourth generation.
Even to the fourth GENERATION!!!!!! WOOO LISTEN THAT MEANS NOT EVEN YOUR GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDPARENTS PROCLIVITIES AND WRONGDOINGS CAN BE HELD AGAINST YOU!!! YOU ARE FREE TO CLEAN THAT PLACE OUT OF YOUR HOUSE!!!!!
It specifically says God holds the parents accountable for what they pass on to their children, therefore if there is anything that you find to be inherent from previous generations you have a grace that they didn’t have to rid yourself of these issues. So if there was any kinds of sexual immorality that took place and now you battle sexually in some way shape or form, guess what? You have grace to have the life God desires for you to have!!!! Isn’t that Awesome? If your parent battled drinking and you now have picked up other addictive behaviors such as overeating or drugs, you have a grace that God can and will break those things off of you!!!!
Offspring will not be put to death for having to battle what they themselves never created. Deut 24:16
Deuteronomy 24:16 M:BCL
16 Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor children for their parents. Each person shall be put to death for his own sin.
DON’T WORRY GOD IS WITH YOU AS YOU WALK THROUGH EVERY ROOM THAT SEEMS TO LOOK, ABANDONED, REJECTED, NEGLECTED, WAS LEFT UNDER CONSTRUCTION, TRANSFERRABLE LUGGAGE THAT WAS LEFT AND NEVER UNPACKED…
(TALK ABOUT HOW YOU CAN BE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED, LIKE A FAVORITE PAIR OF PANTS OR A FAVORITE OUTFIT THAT YOU PACKED AWAY, BUT BECAUSE YOU HAVEN’T WASHED THOSE ITEMS THEY ARE NO GOOD TO WEAR WHEN YOU WANT TO WEAR THEM BECAUSE YOU NEVER CLEANED THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL IN THAT PIECE OF LUGGAGE THAT YOU NEVER UNPACKED. EVEN WORSE YOU WAIT TO UNPACK THE LUGGAGE A MONTH OR MAYBE TWO MONTHS AND NOW IT IS OUT OF SEASON TO WEAR.....
Now lets look at that same piece of luggage as David’s unfinished business. That flesh that he never got under control fully that his children became victims of in some way shape or form.
This luggage has a tag on it, the problem is this luggage doesn’t belong to you it belongs to David and inside of it has:
Jealousy (Amnon)
Sexual immorality (Amnon)
Idolatry (Solomon and other grandchildren)
Arrogance (Absolom)
Deception (Amnon)
Lying (Amnon)
Deceit (Adonijah)
Boastful (Adonijah)
PTSD (from being raped) (Tamar)
Shame (Tamar)
Sorrow (Tamar)
Isolation (Tamar)
Feeling unworthy of greater (Tamar after being raped): killing the assailant doesn’t take away the memory of what happened so there must a more transformative process of cognitive transformation, it may not just go away after we pray for you there are some things that need to walked through with therapy sometimes.
