Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 25:14-30 14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.
16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.
17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’
21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’
23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed,
25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’
26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?
27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.
28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

God Sees Value In You

Everybody Wants The Talent / Nobody Wants The Grind

Regardless of the differing amounts of the talents. Not one single one of them keep their hands in their pockets when the Master was handing the talents out.
Not even the one who claimed in verse 25 that he was afraid so he had what he gladly received. He wasn’t too afraid to take the talent; but, you’re too afraid to steward the talent?
Make it make sense!
In other words, we are can be guilty for having our hands out to receive what God has; but our heart posture isn’t always to be responsible for what God has given.
Let me offer you a brief challenge today: Don’t dishonor what God gave you just because:
You didn’t ask for it
You wanted something more
You wanted something different
Notice verse 15...‌15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.
Let’s be honest: Sometimes we simply just want something that we can brag about, instead of something we can be responsible for.
We want the job but we don’t want to work.
We want the money but we don’t want to budget.
We want the car but we don’t want to pay for the oil change or gas or car note.
We want the children but we don’t want to take care of them or sacrifice for them, raise them or teach them.
We want the husband or wife but we don’t want the ministry of marriage.
We want the ministry but we don’t want the consecration.
We want the graduation but we don’t want the dedication that comes with studying and hard work.
We want the vacation without saving the money from the trip. In addition, taking the trip only to return home owing your mortgage, car note, utilities, or rent.
In my observation of this generation: We want celebration without dedication. We want to be gurus without being disciplined. We want to show off without ever truly showing up. And we almost hate those who actually do the real work and living in true success, promotion and prosperity.
Look at somebody and tell them:
“It’s time for you to show up, grow up and make more out of what you have than what was originally given to you. (Tell Them) There’s more in you than this!

Receive The Talent

On the day the Master handed out the talents, not one of these brothers say: Here, I don’t want it. Not that day. Not one of them gave it back. It was ONLY when the one with the one who gave his back when he was being called on the carpet of what he done with it. Only problem was, he thought he was just gone give it back without consequences. Not at all, All of us will be judge for: 1. What God has given us
2. How we used what God has given us
3. if we multiplied what God gave us.

Accept Your Amount

In other words, be happy with what you got. The scripture teaches us that God has given unto every man, “A Measure of faitih.” What happens with that measure is not up to God. It’s up to you. God won’t increase what you don’t care about! If you don’t ever work the faith you got, you can’t expect God to increase you to the faith you want.
I can promise you this one thing. You will live on the level of your faith.
Remember this from two Sundays ago: God will increase your ability when you increase your responsibility.
Don’t let entitlement strip you of your obedience to use what you’ve got.

There’s Power In Your Talent

STOP comparing and competing
This will only keep you from appreciating your talent and wishing you had more or something more significant.
2. Stop procrastinating.
We only get one life. This life is to be lived in an Ecclesiastes 9:11 fashion.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 ESV
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
This simply means that if you don’t use your time and your opportunities well while you’re in this life then it’s nobody’s fault but yours. If popularity means more to you than being fruitful and multiplying your life, then don’t be surprised when you have the same things at the end of your life as you did at the beginning of your life.
3. Stop waiting on validation and confirmation. This isn’t the same as selfish ambition or a lack of accountability. However; no matter who you talk to, are counseled by, the decision is ultimately yours to make. This means that you will need to know God’s voice for your own life and find out:
What God has given you
How does He want to use you
What’s His timing
Another point is: God has placed value on your talent even if you think it’s nothing. Just because you’re insecure about what God has given you, doesn’t mean God hasn’t placed value on it. If you don’t use it, you will be just as excuseless as the worthless servant. The Master told Him, if you knew what kind of Master I was, you should have done something with it. in other words, if you thought of me and you got scared, you should have been scared into action, not crippled or handicapped by your worthless fear and insecurities.
You see people of God, When God has given you something valuable, you must treat it like it’s more than it is worth. Why? Because, it is more than what it’s worth. What God has placed into your hands has the potential to become far more valuable that what it was worth when He gave it to you.
