John 5

Jn 5:36 “But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John.

For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish,

the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me.”

Jesus: ≪If you can’t hear my words, (at least) look at what I do.≫

remind us that words, understanding & appreciation are great for instruction & encouragement

but our actions are what

truly make us Jesus’ followers

indisputably make us his disciples

infallibly proclaim that Jesus lives and works to this day.

& BTW, make the world a better place, at least a little.

Or

they shows us up as liars who bear empty promises.

Lent is designed to help us bring our actions more fully into line with our words.
