INTRODUCTION
From a Christian perspective, having overwhelming peace in times of hardship means
Having an unshakable sense of calm and trust in God even in the midst of difficult circumstances. This kind of peace goes beyond mere human understanding and is the result of having a deep faith in God's goodness, love, and sovereignty.

1. THE PROMISE OF PEACE
1. THE PROMISE OF PEACE
In Gal. Five, Peace is a fruit of the Spirit along with love, joy, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
This passage is part of Jesus' farewell discourse to His disciples before His crucifixion.
This peace goes beyond what the world can offer.
World’s peace is temporary and does not address man’s most serious issue sin.
This peace is not dependent on circumstances or external factors, but rather is founded on an inner assurance that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

THE SOURCE OF PEACE
THE SOURCE OF PEACE
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God wants us to be prayerful and thankful - especially in the midst of hardship!
Explain how God’s peace will “guard (not keep) your hearts and minds”
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Dan. chap. 3
But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
THE POWER OF PEACE
THE POWER OF PEACE
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”
CONCLUSION
This peace is not based on external circumstances.
This peace is not based on external circumstances.
It’s not a peace that’s based on what you are going through in your life at the moment
Our lives are filled with trouble from beginning to end
We face difficult situations. We face trials and tribulations, turmoil and trouble
And our lives with always be like that – filled with problems and pains – why?
Because sin is in the world. This world is broken and messed-up
Sometimes God Calms the Storm
Sometimes He clams the heart of those who belong to Him.
This peace can be yours regardless of what is going on in the world around you.
