This Week’s Theme: Choose Relationship
This Week’s Word is Relationship-The state of being related by kindred, affinity, or other alliance.
Memory Verse: Proverbs 17:17 “17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.”
Essence of the Text in a Sentence: With so many options to choose from, it is essential that our choices of relationships line up with kingdom principals.
Sermon Objective: I want those in attendance to think about ways that they can help lost family members and friends and lead them to Christ instead of rejecting them and not be concerned for their souls.
Sermon Proposition: As disciples of Christ, it is important that we direct people according to The Word of God and not how we think or feel.
Sermon Text: Ruth 1:16-18

I. THE POWER OF A WISE DECISION

Ruth 1:16–18 NKJV
16 But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.” 18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.
Ruth 1:13–14 NKJV
13 would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me!” 14 Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
Mark 8:34 NKJV
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

II. RUTH’S DECISION FOR DESTINY

Proverbs 16:3 NKJV
3 Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.

III. RUTH DECIDED ON LIFE

Romans 8:38–39 NKJV
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

IV. LET’S STAY TOGETHER

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
