INTRODUCTION
Purpose of gathering:
First workshop of the year.
To Equip you. And put some tools in your hands to be effective in your ministry.
The ministry of helps is mentions among the ministry gift.
Its supernatural. So we need to know what we are doing.
Let your heart be here because Jesus is here. And you are going to leave this place a changed person.
Discussion:
Today we want to talk about something that we all do every Sunday and that is worship.
The big question is: are we doing right?
Worship is one of the important themes in the Bible.
The truth about worship is that, is not something that we can do with our mind.
Q: What is worship?
Every sunday, in different parts of the world, we starts our services with prasie and worship. But do we have a clear revelation of what we are doing?
Because Many believers don’t understand when it come to worship. There is no clear understanding, revelation of the nature of worship.
Write these things down:
True Worship also have something to do with the presence of God. There cannot a true worship without the presence of God.
There are many songs we call worship, but the presence of God is absence.
It is impossible for true worship to be there without the presence of God.
Where there is true worship, the presence of God is there.
Proposition:
Today we want to look at how we can really worship God. We want to do it right. We cannot show up every sunday and not know what really doing.
Worship is something that we are craeted to do.
Psalm 95:6-7 NKJV
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. [7] For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
Revelation 4:11 NKJV
"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."
Psalm 99:5 NKJV
Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His footstool- He is holy.
Psalm 99:5 NLT
Exalt the LORD our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!
If we dont worship, we lose our true essense of why we were created.
And if we will worship, then we need to do it right.
I. How Do We Really Enter The Presence Of God. PP
Some Truths:
1. Through out the bible, worship is connected with THANKSGIVING and PRAISE
Psalm 66:4 All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name." Selah
Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
2. Worship is the door way to enter into the presence of the Lord.
A. The way it Begins PP
You cannot just go into worship.
If your heart full of doubt, unbelief, complain, rule by your five senses, you cannot worship. You cannot just go ahead and worship.
Because worship is of the heart. It is poured in our spirit.
B. It is a process:
PP Anology of teh Terbenacle
The Holy of holies is where true worship takes place.
In our heart.
1.Outer Court
2. Holy Spirit
3.Holy of Holies
Psalm 100:4 NKJV
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalm 95:6-7 NIV
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; [7] for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
We must be full of thankful people. Full of Joy. Always prasing God.
Thanksgiving opens the gate
Praise opens the court. It brings you into the inner court.
There is a gate. Actually 2 gates
Those gates open and give us access into the presence of God.
David mentions the gates pf thanksgiving
Isaiah also talked about the other gates which is praise
Isaiah 60:18 NKJV
Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your walls Salvation, And your gates Praise.
Psalm 100
[4] Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name
Without Thanksgiving, there is no access to Praise
Without praise, there is not access to worship.
Thanksgiving relates to God’ goodness.
Praise related to Gods greatness
Worship relates to Gods holiness
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving cannot be experienced without understanding God’s grace
Thanksgiving takes place when I understand Grace.
Grace enables me to thank HimWe can thank the lord because we all understand what goodness is. Gods’ goodness is all around us.
God is good to us. The things we see.
The people around us shows His goodness.
We have understanding of His goodness so we can thank Him
Praise
We understand greatness.
When we look at the nature and we see things that is beyond our human strength, we praise Him for His greatness.
Sometimes when we see the greatness of God, a song just irrupts in us and begin singing.
I have experience that many times in my life.
Out of us comes praise when we see Gods greatness.
Psalm 145:3 NKJV
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.
We can understand thanksgiving because of Gods goodness
We can understand praise, because of Gods greatness
But Holiness has no parallel. There is no parallel here on earth to be compared to it.
Holiness is a revelation. It has no parallel in the globe.
Where do we find it?
When Worship takes place, it opens the door to Gods presence.
Worship takes place when we have a relation of holiness.
We need a relation of Gods holiness if not, you cannot worship.
You cannot enter.
You need a relation of who God is.
To worship Him, you have to see him.
Today We sing songs and we don’t really pay attention to what we are singing.
“You are Holy, Holy,
Are you Lord God, almighty
Worthy is the Lamb”
Worthy is the Lamb”
Etc.
The Process Into Worship
Entering into the presence of God is a process.
It does not just happen by just showing up. It takes a revelation.
Psalm 95:1-7 NKJV
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. [2] Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. [3] For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods. [4] In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. [5] The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. [6] Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
He is trying to help us that we see greatness by looking at creation.
[7] For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
For He is our God”
It means that you know Him.
Worship takes place when you have a revelation of who God is.
Praise changes the atmosphere.
It clears the atmosphere
It brings the acknowledgement of God.
Thanksgiving is the door way that opens the entrance.
Praise
Du know that there was praise when God created the heavens and the earth.
Job 38:1-9 NIV
Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: [2] "Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? [3] Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. [4] "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. [5] Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? [6] On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone- [7] while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? [8] "Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, [9] when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness,
When we talk about praise, our God moves in.
He dwells in that place and victory Is in that place
Praise is so powerful
Psalm 22:3 NKJV
But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
Praise cause God to sit down.
It is when He sits down that the victory comes.
That is why we are seated with Christ…
Praise actually cause God to sit down
In order words, rule begins
When thanksgiving is combined with praise then we access into worship. That is what gives us access.
It’s a process.
Psalm 100:1-5 NKJV
Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! [2] Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. [3] Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. [4] Enter into His gateswith thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. [5] For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
WORSHIP
A place of incredible peace
Because worship demands a revelation of Gods holiness.
If we don’t have that revelation, it is impossible to worship.
Unless you have a revelation of who God really is, you cannot worship.
Psalm 91:1-16 NKJV
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." [3] Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. [4] He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. [5] You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, [6] Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. [7] A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. [8] Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. [9] Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, [10] No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; [11] For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. [12] In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. [13] You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. [14] "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. [15] He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. [16] With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation."
A place of worship is beyond description
There is peace
There is protection
But there must be a revelation of who God is
When it takes place, you don’t want anything else.
Its beyond description.
Worship takes place in the heart and not in the auditorium.
WORSHIP
It’s a revelation of the heart.
It is where you have lost of yourself. That is where worship takes place
We revelation of holiness, that awareness of His Holiness. If not, we cannot enter
Music helps us but worship must be in our heart.
Worship enters our spirit and we just worship
Worship is not just songs. And sometimes the songs that people sing are not worship songs.
NEXT LESSON
Pt.2
Notes from cain and Able: God does not accept every sacrifice.
The first emblem by which the Holy Spirit is presented is a dove.
When we worship God, we stand in that beautiful moment and every chaos disappears.
We forget our pain and our troubles.
WHEN WORSHIP TAKES PLACE:
You become a changed man. When you come into worship, there is inner tranquility. These peace. Where you dont want to live the presence. Where there is nothing that you care about. You just want to worship
No distractions
Where everything in this world doesn’t matter.
