John 14:1-7
John 14:1-7
Tonight we will speak in more detail about the Rapture of the body of Christ, but here in John 14, Jesus begins this by speaking of this great event of resurrected bodies and saints!
Jesus is coming again to receive us unto Himself! That where He is we will be!
We spend a lot of our lives looking for the next thing!
I have heard out of many mouths even mine.....just waiting to see what God is going to do!
I am going to be daring this morning, but I am going to say that He has already done for us all the we need through Christ Jesus !
My yearning desire should be similar to what Paul wrote to Titus....Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
You know, as I think about the way we think about things, we seemed to get lost in our everyday situations...........
I have heard it said that the Lord is going to do a new thing (which He has already done)....
I don’t have to wait on any new thing from the Lord, He has performed the only new thing that humanity needed!
Jesus, as He is telling the disciples this, is preparing them for His departure, but He is also preparing them for His return to get them!
Why did He leave them here? After all was fulfilled, why did He go and not take them?
The world needed to know this “New Thing” New Commandment that is fulfilled in Jesus Christ!
This is a powerful statement in Scripture from Peter filled with the Holy Spirit 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
That all should come to repentance..........
God’s love is not narrow, but the way is narrow!
Jesus is coming again to receive His church, but the only ones that will meet Jesus in the air, will be those that believed that Jesus was their only way to God the Father.....
That Jesus was the only life to live unto God the Father
That Jesus was the only Truth of God!
If you notice the continuation of the “I AM” statement........
Verse 7, the only way to know God is to know Christ Jesus!
The ignorance of the disciples and us is revealed through Phillip in verse 8......
Jesus answers in verse 9....have I been with you so long?????? and you still do not know?????
If you have seen Jesus you have seen the Father!
Everything is fulfilled in Christ......this is amazingly, powerful in that we are incapable of fulfilling anything, yet God sent His Son to be the perfect fulfillment for us!
Everything about God is fulfilled in Jesus and it becomes about Jesus not us!
In Jesus Christ, With Jesus Christ, Through Jesus Christ, From Jesus Christ!
If you read through Scripture the Christian’s life is described as in Christ Jesus!
Let’s look at Romans 8:1-11........This first verse is powerful to me, through Christ we are not condemned!!
Have you ever had a parent, family member, preacher, friend, church member point their finger at you and tell you that you are going to hell?
I have......You know what? They were right!!
We do that a lot........The only problem I have with that is that they are not the ones that cast that condemnation, neither can satan......only God has cast that condemnation.
Actually we done it to our own selves because our rebellion to God!
Truth be known, there is nothing within our power that can be done to clear us from our condemnation!
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He (God) hath made Him (Jesus)to be sin for us, (Jesus) Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus).”
That is so powerful!
Getting back to God’s love for us through Christ, in that He so loves the world, but the way is narrow because there is only One Way and that is Jesus!
And if Christ be in you....meaning that ONE WAY being in you....then you are made alive and there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus!
Back in John Jesus tell us that He will come again and receive us unto Himself
It is in Jesus Christ that we find righteousness, we find life, we find rest, we find peace, we find love, we find God!
