Evangelism Training

No Bible Study the next two weeks, however . . . .
There will be a homework assignment and a “class presentation” to keep you on point
homework assignment - using our three scriptures, make a 30 second video explaining how to be saved and send it to Pastor by Tuesday, April 11th
good practice for your professional witnessing video you will make later
class presentation - during a church service, after the sermon, give what we call the the invitation (The Great Invitation). Again use our three scriptures
This is an opportunity to get out of the homework assignment. If you volunteer to do the invitation this Sunday, the 1st Sunday in April, or the 2nd Sunday in April)
I cannot make you do any of this, but I am asking for your participation

Guilt Trip

Guilt trip - if Hudson Taylor could go through all he did
go to a different country
sail across the seas
dress like a Chinese person
little food
little shelter
learn a new language
then you should love God enough to make a video and give the invitation at your own church

Three Memory Scriptures

you can use are three questions or you can frame them as statements
Are you a sinner?
You are a sinner.
All of us are sinners.
Romans 3:23 NASB95
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins?
God loved you so much that he sent son to die for our sins
Romans 5:8 NASB95
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Are you willing to surrender your life to the risen Christ?
You have to make Jesus the Lord of your life (faith enough to follow)
Romans 10:9 NASB95
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

Chapter 11

“The China Inland Mission” is founded
Hudson Taylor accepts God’s call to change from being a missionary to running a missionary society and being responsible for missionaries too.
24 people to inland China
Taylor would dictate and wife would write, and they published a pamphlet, “China’s Spiritual Need and Claims”
Their Missionary Society was different in several ways
using the pamphlet to explain the need and vision to go to china was their only advertisement
Not approach people directly for funds - just sent out the pamphlet
Total dependency on God
did not want to take away from other missionary societies
They did not officially recruit (pamphlet) and they did not promise salaries to those who came
not sponsored by a particular denomination
no strong support you could count on
they would accept workers from other denominations - you had a interdenominational team (big thing)
not too long ago, some denominations were killing each others
did not require university training
simple and organization, no boards or committees
Taylor would be in charge in China
Mr. Berger would take care of things in London
Lessons

God is our Father

so, You can trust in God!
Taylor’s analogy about how he could not forget his children, and God cannot forget about us
“you will be forgotten” page 125 in brown book, 71 in blue book
think of how much you care for your kids
how much you have and will do for them
how much you would sacrifice for them
how you watch over them and they don’t even know it
always on your mind from baby to adults
and we are just imperfect earthly parents
multiply that times 1mil . . . .God will not forget you
God will not let you down
God has your best interest at heart
God’s got your back!

Do things how God wants you to do them

might be different from others but God has various ways of using us
as long as it is not contrary to the Word
don’t take pride in it though, just do it

prayer, prayer, prayer

whole chapter talked about praying (and fasting)
we can get so busy serving God, being a Christian, that we don’t pray as we ought to
pray for help in fulfilling God’s will
pray for your needs
pray about everything
Philippians 4:6 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Call to Action - pray that God will save people and send workers to WMBC
