Victory is mine,
Victory today is mine.

Victory today is mine.
Victory is mine,
Victory is mine,
Victory today is mine.
I told Satan to get thee behind,
Victory today is mine.
Can you imagine if one of the 64 teams entering into March Madness on the men or women’s bracket had a guarantee that at the end of the tournament they would be victorious? If that was the case then March Madness would not be Mad at all! For two weekends in a row I have seen teams who were favored to lose pull off an unlikely when. Even has we narrow it down on the mens side all of the number one ranked teams are out of the tournament! So as much as we would like to predict a winner we cant until the final buzzer buzzes and the champion is name. Any of the teams left can be champion.
Yet as children of God we have a guarantee victory. We may have to fight and struggle through this thing called life but the word is clear we have the victory! What does that mean for you today? I see at the end of each game the winning team celebrates and gives each other hugs and high fives! There is a position of victory. Its a position of CELEBRATION! This is why the psalmist says enter into gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise!
Make a joyful noise unto the lord all ye lands. We should be in a constant state of praise. God has you! Paul said: 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Php 4:6–7).
He went on to say in that same chapter 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Php 4:12–13).
We must know our outcome will always supersede whatever state we are in! Our ending is predetermine! Victory is ours! This is just a reminder! This news has already run. One of my morning activities is to look at the morning news. Its funny because they have the same top stories. At 5:30 AM 6 AM 6:30 AM. If nothing significant happens it the same lead stories at 11 AM also. We news flash the lead off story today is you are victorious by your faith! Since you believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ it puts you in the unique position as a child of GOD
5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 Jn 5:1–5).
FIrst We have to Love one another
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” . (Jn 13:34–35).
We have a responsibility to love one another and to teach our children to do the same. Or to reteach our children to love. Its the poison of hate in the world that causes our children not to love.
Yet study after study show that children have the ability to love unconditionally. Its our bias and the worlds introduction of hate, malice, and other mess that have our children even younger and younger that are doing this craziness.
Second We must keep his commandments
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. (1 Jn 5:2–3).
5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked (1 Jn 2:5–6).
23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 24 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. (1 Jn 3:23–24).
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. (1 Jn 4:13).
Why would this be repeated over and over again? John speaks of it even Jesus reminds us of keeping God commandments shows us that we really love God.
We cant say we are children of God and be full of sin and disobedience! Its time for us to do right. When you know better you should do better!
9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. (1 Jn 3:9–10).
Finally we have the Victory
4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 Jn 5:4–5).
And just what is it the overcomes the world? (back to 1 John 5:4) “and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” The words we translate “victory” and “overcome” and to be a “conqueror” (Rom 8:37 "We are more than conquerors …") is the same root word in the Greek, “nike” (like the athletic shoe). We are to be victorious over the world, we are to overcome the world, and be conquerors, and we do so by our faith.
This is a great promise. God is telling us that our faith is a mighty thing. By our faith in Jesus, we have the power over this world. And what does that faith look like?
