“EARTHLY TENT TO ETERNAL HOUSE”

2 Corinthians 5:1-10

· Have you ever been to Nowthen, MN?

· The followers of Jesus Christ are “Nowthen” people!

1. Our Earthly Tent – NOW

- It is our physical body.

- It is visible.

- It is temporary.

- It was created by God. Psalm 139:13-16

- It belongs to God.

- It is the temple of God’s Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

- It is meant to honor God.

- It is not evil.

2. Our Eternal House – THEN

- It is eternal.

- It is in heaven.

- It is prepared by God.

- It is unseen now.

- It is like Christ’s glorious body. Philippians 3:21 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 1 John 3:2

- It is our hope.

Living in the NOW, while looking forward to the THEN:

· The guarantee. v. 5

· The groaning. v. 2-4 Romans 8:18, 23-25

· The life of faith. v. 7

· The confidence. v. 6, 8

· The goal. v. 9

· The accountability. v. 10
