Fight Club Vol II

1 Samuel 22:1–2 NKJV
1 David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him. 2 And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.
1 Samuel 30:1–16 KJV
1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5 And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. 10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor. 11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water; 12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights. 13 And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick. 14 We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire. 15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company. 16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
Today I want to give you some keys in how to Identifying

Blessings In Unexpected Places

Easton’s Bible Dictionary (Ziklag)
ZIKLAG—a town in the Negeb, or south country of Judah, it was in the possession of the Philistines when David fled to Gath from Ziph with all his followers. Achish, the king, assigned him Ziklag as his place of residence. There he dwelt for over a year and four months. During his absence with his army to join the Philistine expedition against the Israelites (29:11), it was destroyed by the Amalekites (30:1, 2)
So David returns, from a fight he shouldn’t have been involved in, And Discovers his home has been destroyed.
David and his company where so distressed by this CALAMITY they lifted up there voice and wept, until they had no power to weep.
Now David’s family had been taken along with everyone else, and David was greatly distressed; not because his family was taken.
1 Samuel 30:6 KJV
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
When the people he had helped was ready to kill him, He encouraged himself In His God
There will come a time in your life, where you have helped others and when you are LOW those same folks will be on the lower side ready to rock you to death.
Ziklag represents that place of overwhelming despair. You just don’t know what to do!!
Look AT SOMEBODY CUTER THAN YOU AND TELL THEM, When you get to Ziklag
don’t stay there encourage yourself in The Lord your God…
Psalm 121:2 KJV
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
2. David got prophetic and asked the priest to lend him your Ephod
1 Samuel 30:8 (KJV)
8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
David didn’t pray for revenge like i would have.. Opp’s “did i say that” I mean thats what i would have done, ignored the congregation that was scheming to rock me up.
What great confidence David had to have to ignore the schemers and focus on his pursuit..
I guess thats why he was man after God’s own Hart!! God said Pursue.......
You ever noticed how sometimes it feels like your blessings are on pause? perhaps its because your more driven to prove someone wrong, than pursuing your true purpose.
What word will it take for you, to come off pause and go after that thing.
God Told David Pursue
And with No malice or no hard feelings, David started to gear up and get ready for battle.. with his enemy not his brothers & sisters…
Some of us have been fighting family, baby daddies and baby Momma’s for so long we brought that same fighting spirit to the Church. Look at you neighbor like that owe you $100 dollars AND tell them I am not your enemy..
I am here to tell you, God wants you to get your focus back.. Some of you ARE SO QUICK TO QUIT GOD, But you will suffer long with that sucker that beats you upside the head every weekend.
3. David had too many to get the job done
The Lord will purge your party because he don’t want you to think you did it in your strength
Zechariah 4:6 KJV
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
1 Samuel 30:10 KJV
10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.
When you can’t see what God is doing, you will personalize the purge..
As a Pastor I have learned how to celebrate the Arrivals & the Departures
4. David found a foreigner in the field
Never allow your assignment stop you from helping the Helpless.
Some of the most foreign things that will come in your life that makes you uncomfortable is there to bless you!
1 Samuel 30:13–15 KJV

I bet at this very moment David remembered what he heard God whisper in his Ear,
Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
See God caused that egyptian to get sick and have his master leave him for dead.
We got to get out our feelings it’s causing us to miss God Moment’s
Tell 3 People I am in Hot Pursuit ( Work That)
If you feel you lost a family member by the enemies enslaving power of disfunction, drugs, alcohol, addiction, mental health, sickness, incarceration, poverty.. fornication, rebellion, rape & molestation.
This word is for you, encourage yourself in the Lord and Pursue.. without fail you shall have total recovery..
But you got to cross over, There blessing was on the other side of the Brook Besor
This is the hardest part, for many of us.. We don’t know what to expect on the other side, and we are side tracked by who can’t come with us..
The Lord is trying to expose something new to you, but you must let go off the Old,
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Isaiah 43:19 KJV
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
