To suffer you and he had to humble
Humiiity of Jesus
Philippians 2:5–11
5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Tempted use his own power , just like us to go back to use our way of doing things I could say something that would crush their little feelings or I could show him what I am made of and they will not ever try that again.
Use our own devices.
He came back for us
Paul emptied himself in chapter 3
Moses did it himself and became a slave he could have live in the Egypt a prince but though of the interests of the Israelite people opposed jut to himelf
3:1 What a contrast between Moses’ life as an Egyptian prince and his life as a Midianite shepherd! As a prince he had everything done for him; he was the famous son of an Egyptian princess. As a shepherd he had to do everything for himself; he was holding the very job he had been taught to despise (Genesis 43:32; 46:33, 34), and he lived as an unknown foreigner. What a humbling experience this must have been for Moses! But God was preparing him for leadership. Living the life of a shepherd and nomad, Moses learned about the ways of the people he would be leading and also about life in the wilderness. Moses couldn’t appreciate this lesson, but God was getting him ready to free Israel from Pharaoh’s grasp.
Love of christ humbles ourself to reach the unreachable
Love of christ humbles ourself to reach the unreachable
Love of Christ for his love for us caused christ to come back for us , he did not have to come back.
He humbled himself when talking to Satan in the wilderness, the devil knew what he was ttrying to do for Jesus to use his heavenly power but Jesus used the word of God as his weapon the sword of the spirit.
We are going to be tempted or provoked to come out of ourselves from a fleshly standpoint
‘
He was showing us how to fight the devil and perform.
Put titles down to reach the souls .
Not that I have already attained but that I know the resurrection of christ
So
How do we get humility, we must put it on and our spirt our love of christ is our catalyst.
Law enforcement think about others before themselves at the school shooting the other day they are ruinning to the fight opposed to running away they are showing humility
Going into the battle and into the fire that is humility
5:9–15 Naaman, a great hero, was used to getting respect, so he was outraged when Elisha treated him like an ordinary person. A proud man, he expected royal treatment. To wash in a great river would be one thing, but the Jordan was small and dirty. To wash in the Jordan, Naaman thought, was beneath a man of his position. But Naaman had to humble himself and obey Elisha’s commands in order to be healed. Obedience to God begins with humility. We must believe that his way is better than our own. We may not always understand his ways of working, but by humbly obeying, we will receive his blessings. We must remember that (1) God’s ways are best; (2) God wants our obedience more than anything else; (3) God can use anything to accomplish his purposes.
Importance of humbling before God
Joshua 7:6
Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lorduntil the evening, both he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.
7:6 Joshua and the leaders tore their clothing and threw dust on their heads as signs of deep mourning before God. They were confused by their defeat at the small city of Ai after the spectacular Jericho victory, so they went before God in deep humility and sorrow to receive his instructions. When our lives fall apart, we also should turn to God for direction and help. Like Joshua and the leaders, we should humble ourselves so that we will be able to hear God’s words.
How we can we humble ourselves
Luke 14:11
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
8:3, 4 To respect God’s majesty, we must compare ourselves to his greatness. When we look at creation, we often feel small by comparison. This is a healthy way to get back to reality, but God does not want us to dwell on our smallness. Humility means proper respect for God, not self-depreciation
.
Love of christ causes us to be obedient to reach the unreachable
Love of christ causes us to be obedient to reach the unreachable
He came back for you and I , love for
He was on the outskirts of the city , he was following the scripture in the prophets
He was going according to the plan of God
Just as Jesus ask us to follow the commandments by loving God with all our heart and loving others as ourselves
The love of christ means obedience.
Obedience unto christ , he was obedient , he knew what the plan was for him to be beaten whipped abused c, chastised but he knew this.
He knew how the nails was going to enter his hands and how the pains was going tobe unbearable
There are things that we are not going to want to do but at any cost as those nails went through his hands the love of christ.
So how we learn obedience, jesus tell us in the book of Hebrews said he learned suffering by the things that he suffered tell
Which tells us through Pain , crying and suffering we learn obedience not always
Through that crying pain you are growing
What is that marine saying Pain is weakness leaving the body.
We all have periods of humility in our lives
Lets say you experience challenging problems at work with people especially a supervisor and you may get upset but because of love that you have for your family you take the pain, hurt for your family but you get your strength through your love for family. Love drives your humility
You take the pain and you don’t retaliate back
You become obedient , you learn obedience
You suffer through it
because of your love for christ your love for God for providing that Job but knowing that God will one day \
Have something better.
And you will rewarded with things later
To encourage those that are going through stage of obedience and dealing wth suffering
You are esteeming others such as your family higher than your self
You see this impressively through Moms because all the time they are thinking of the family and showing the love for him
God has not forgotten you and your labor love love
Obedience begins with Humility
2 Kings 5:9–15
9 So Naaman came with his horses and his chariots and stood at the doorway of the house of Elisha. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean.” 11 But Naaman was furious and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.’ 12 Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 Then his servants came near and spoke to him and said, “My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean. 15 When he returned to the man of God with all his company, and came and stood before him, he said, “Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel; so please take a present from your servant now
