Growing to adulthood in a fallen world has made people hard-hearted towards God. In this passage, Jesus says that to know membership in the kingdom of God a person has to be willing to receive the kingdom as a little child would receive his or her parents. Infants are full on in the trust they have of their parents. It is that same unencumbered trust that will bring a person to receive Jesus and His kingdom.
