Have you ever Cried out to God?

Psalm 130:1–2 NIV
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
When i read this passage i was amazed at the idea of the the crying out from the depths. I don’t know about you but this always resonates with me because of the various hardships that I have faced. It is a place that I have found myself before and i imagine i will find myself in the future.
I also was thinking about this i find that there are times that i wish i would have cried out more often when i was in need.
It reminded me that God is always listening that his ear is attentive. Thought the Author is asking God to listen. Like God is not listening to them. I thought about this for awhile because i have come to believe that when we think that God isn’t listening is because we aren’t speaking or we aren’t actually asking him properly. Picture it this way
Turn around and ask a question.
When i don’t approach God properly he can’t hear me.

How would it make you feel if you if God never erased our sins?

Psalm 130:3–4 NIV
3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
When we seek forgiveness we have to be reminded that God erases our sin. I love Micah 7:19
Micah 7:19 NIV
19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
He doesn’t hold our sin against us. His grace is such that if we believe that we can stand confident before him because of his grace not because of anything that we have done. That is why no one could stand before God if we didn’t have his love and grace for us. That is why we need to stand in reverence and serve him. It is this reminder that the life of believer is one that is done in service to God.

When have you waited a really long time for something? What did you wait for?

Psalm 130:5–6 NIV
5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Waiting is one of the hardest things to do in my opinion. It is difficult to have to wait patiently. To stand at peace and be confident in the the things that are to come. I remember when i bough Angie’s engagement ring. One of the first thoughts I had after i purchased it was how am I going to wait till the right time. I was like there is no way i am going to be able to do that. I realized that had to be patient and wait because i didn’t want to rush it. Since i knew it was going to be about 8 months from when i bought it I had a brillant idea. I gave it to my mom to keep. I told her not to give it to me till it was the right time. I shared my plans and i gave it to my mom to hold because i knew that if i had it i might not want to wait.
I think of waiting on His return and his movement in my life and i look expectantly and It is in this waiting that we have to be careful becuase waiting doesn’t mean inactivity it is mroe about the expectation of what is to come.

What is your biggest hope in life?

Psalm 130:7–8 NIV
7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
Hope is a powerful thing. It changes us and it moves us in amazing ways. Without hope life in many ways can feel really empty. There is no looking forward to more. This morning i talked about the fact that hope is not only in the future but in the right now. It is in his redemption that we can hope and see that e have been redeemed of our sins and rejoice.
