SLIDE #1
SLIDE #2 Acts 3:1-10
One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.
Make groups

1). Lame / Lisiado
Crippled from birth / Lisiado de nacimiento Born that way / Así nació Couldn’t stand on his own 2 feet / No podía pararse sobre sus pies 4:22 He was 40 yrs. Old had been crippled all his life
Crippled / Lisiado
Different types of lame men / Diferentes tipos de hombres lisiados
SLIDE #4
a). Physically lame man / Hombre fisicamente lisiado.
To be disabled or impaired in any way; weak, infirm; paralyzed; unable to move.
Estar discapacitado o impedido de alguna manera; débil, enfermo; paralizado; incapaz de moverse.
SLIDE #5

No cognitive capacity to take on their manly responsibilities
SLIDE #6
c. Social Lameness -
People passed him by, devalued him, and thought little of him.
His family likely laid him there so that he could make some contribution to his care.
This developed in him an attitude of expecting others to do what they are expected to do.
SLIDE #7
d. Spiritual lameness -
They can see and hear the truth, can even confess it, but because of their lameness, they cannot act upon it.
The results of spiritual lameness are that the woman must take the spiritual reigns of the home. She leads the devotional aspect of family life.
SLIDE #8
Lameness comes in different forms, but it bears one similar characteristic:
Someone else must do what you will not do for yourself.
Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.
What was his primary need? Was it a financial need?
SLIDE #10
When you’re lame, you think something else can compensate for your primary need: walking!
Peter says: We have no money. Don’t have what you think you need
But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold,
Many times we’re praying for the wrong things:
A better job, more money, the better position . . .
Lame men pray for stuff to change their situation
When God wants to change the person
All this guy wants is enough to keep his lameness going.
God is not interested in keeping you comfortable in your lameness
He wants to change your lameness so you’re not lame anymore.
SLIDE #10
And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.
And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
How did it happen?
The power in the name of Jesus
Two people challenge him with their faith.
They refused to let him stay in his condition
Peter & John
- Be ready to grab the men God brings into your path
Well my father had an anger problem and I inherited his problem
Find some men who will pick you up from that lying position.
Who have learned to control their emotions
Who don’t have to cuss when they get angry
Who don’t have to hit when they are frustrated
Let them grab you and pick you up and out of your condition
We have a generation of young men who are not a lost generation
They are the product of a lost generation
They haven’t had good examples of what a man, a father, a husband is
He followed them into the temple.
They will follow you when you are genuine.
He gives you a miracle for a purpose.
Your background from Nazareth no longer has to be the definition of your manhood.
