John 20:11-18 -11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. 13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” 14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. 15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). 17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Where Are You Going?

We see that in the first 10 verses that the disciples who didn’t quit understand what Jesus had told them.
KEY - Listen with your heart and not just your ears
Mary goes to tell Simon and the other disciple about Jesus not being there, They went looking....but like a child looking for a toy, they look at the very surface level.
At the time, they had a choice… but they chose to return back to where they were staying
Mary Magdalene had stayed to weep… but staying would give her what she would be seeking

What Is It That Your Looking For

Such a tremendous question to be asked, in such a time of pain and need, the question to the heart that is asked, is of the truest intentions
How often in our time of need, hurt, emotional pain… do we go looking
Are we looking for quick fixes? People, Alcohol, drugs, false idols, even religion?
Just like the disciples, they went looking for what they did not understand… some sort of body
we do not need to look at crosses, pictures, even a church building to find Jesus.
Jesus is right where you are

Trust Your Senses

There are three senses that are well described in these 8 verses, Visual, Audible, and Physical
Today the same senses are being fulfilled with us.
God is showing us miracles around us, in us… everyday
God is speaking to us all the time, sometimes its because you asked a question and He has the answers. Sometimes its in your quiet place, He speaks to you with directions and His plans.
God is healing us everyday, you may want to give Him a hug, thinking thats the physical evidence you need. But the blood of Jesus is covering and touching all day and everyday. Healing you, protecting you, being a barrier for you against anything that comes your way
You can trust people because they can speak, yet every person is a sinner. But can you trust the one who came as a sacrifice to take sin away.
Whether your a believer for a short time, long time, or maybe this is the first time you are hearing about Jesus. You are here because we are looking for the fulfillment in our life.
God is not looking for your perfection, He is not looking at your expectations, He is looking for the one who is seeking him with all their hearts. John 4:23 says “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”
As much as it is you that is seeking God, He has been waiting for you to come to Him… His love endures everything.... Today maybe you were seeking a thought of who Jesus was, But that Jesus is now in you, and He is awaiting you, to loosen those shackles, break the chains, give sight to the blind, give sound to the def, love to those who were hurt.
Will you meet with Him today? Will you listen to His comforting words? Will you witness his miracles? Will you allow Him to cover you?
“‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’
