To please someone else
Some worship to please their Spouse, Friends, Parents, etc.

To avoid negative feedback

Disciplinary Action is Ultimately Taken Because We Count One As A Brother - 2 Thess 3:14-15
Out of “thoughtless” habit

When we worship our focus shouldn’t be on what others need to do
Only focused on how it applies to others
Man who always commends lessons by saying, “Preacher, they really needed that.”
Matthew 7:1-5
David was guilty of this mistake - 2 Samuel 12:5
Refusing to listen if it contradicts preconceived ideas
Matthew 13:14-17
If we hear something that challenges our thinking, we immediately tune it out and refuse to listen.

3. Self-Satisfied Before Coming to Worship

Luke 18:9-14
He went to pray but didn’t ask for anything. He was satisfied with where he was.
As a result he went down unjustified
Contrast These With the Attitude of the Apostle Paul - Phil 3:10-14
