Matthew 27:46
Matthew 27:46
He Had too
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
If you would, for a few moments if you would allow me to walk thru a few scriptures. I promise i will get to where I need to be here shortly. But Leviticus 16:16 “So he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and so he shall do for the tabernacle of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.” , next Isaiah 50:6 “I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.” , next Isaiah 53:8 “He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.” and then Hebrews 9:28 “so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” and finally 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” ......Jesus had to get beat and be set apart and then He became the very thing that kept us apart from God.....TALK, PREACH....He became sin....Christ had to take the sin of the one who nailed him to the cross with him.....TALK PREACH....He had to become sin for us....
He took our sin so God could show us His true love, his true grace and his true mercy....TALK, PREACH.....For God so loved the world....I pray you know about grace and mercy....TALK......
So here is Jesus on the cross, with the sins of the world, then and now and those to come, on his back. As God looked down He saw that thing that he didn’t like. SIN....
it was at this pivotal point, that Jesus had sensed that God had withdrawn his presence from him, no longer with him…MY GOD MY GOD.....it was at this pivotal point that Jesus had sensed God had withdrawn his deliverance from him, in times past God had met his needs, even when Jesus was in the garden, God sent an angel to strengthen him…oh but not this time, Jesus was alone....MY GOD MY GOD......at this pivotal point,Jesus sensed he bearing the curse of sin, the very thing that separates us from God.....MY GOD MY GOD.....at this pivotal time Jesus now knew that he was delivered into the hands of sin and death…2 things that are foreign to God, my God is about life and holiness....
Christ bore the sins for man, therefore he also had to bear the penalty due man......TALK PREACH…it should have been us....with all of this going Christ screamed out as it was prophesied in Psalms 22:1 “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?” and here he is on the cross fulfilling the prophesy now, Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?””
Jesus knew the answer but for those in here today that haven’t figured it out, God loved his children so much He had to forsake his son. MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME.....I had to so my children could have a way out of no way.......so my children could claim their seat in the kingdom.....so they could claim the prepared place for them.....they could not do it by themselves.....they needed a sacrifical lamb, they needed an atonement.....we needed Jesus....
I couldn’t do it by myself.....God had too for me.....when i think about what he has done for me.......TALK PREACH CLOSE.....
