The Tomb Is Empty

It is amazing how things can change so quickly. Friday there was hopelessness and heart heartache, and now on Sunday there is

hope

Life

salvation

Hitting the school bus and waiting to find I wasn’t going to jail

The time between feels so long, but because of Christ we have the hope to make it through.

This life is short compared to eternity.

Turn to Luke

But it can fell like eternity in the moment but there is hope because of Christ.

Luke 24:1–8 NIV

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

Why do you look for the living among the dead?

When the enemy thought they had won, in reality in the moment he lost and now we have the hope the hope we can only find in Christ.

The Hope that we are saved from the yoke of slavery

Galatians 5:1 NIV

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Hope that we are no long enemies of God

Romans 5:10 NIV

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

The hope we have because we are now His Children

Romans 8:14–17 NIV

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

The hope of Heaven

John 14:2 NIV

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

We have hope but it is important to remember that we have hope

We are human and we still deal with this world so we are not immune to this issue

You might think or say,

I have done horrible things

I turned my back on God

I have doubted

You might have thought that you don’t deserve the gift that God has given us through Jesus

I am here to tell you that those are lies that the you do not have to believe.

God Promise’s us

Forgiveness

Matthew 1:21 NIV

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Eternal life

John 3:16 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Freedom

John 8:36 NIV

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Paul a man that hunted Christians, stood over their execution Was not only forgiven, but used in amazing ways for the glory of God

To say God can’t forgive you and the sins that you have is to say His sacrifice was not good enough for you.

Lets take a moment and if you are a Christian and feel this way its time to let go

if you are not a Christian its time to let go of the world and cling to the only one that can save us.

and if you are doing great and right now you are good, I want you to thank God and then pray for others here this morning that they would be able to let go of the world and grab a hold of God.
