Today which is the last teaching on this series there a beauitful intyersection because its also Easter. Today we will discover the God of Hope.
Im going to pray pauls prayer for the church.
Ephesians 1:17–20 (NIV)
Ephesians 1:17–20 (NIV)
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Today i want to uncover three main ideas.
Gods Vision for Humanity
How his vision was accomplished through Jesus Dealth and Resurrection.
What that means for us today
My Testimony of hopeless
Hebrews 11:1 NIV
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
He Gave me Hope not by answering all my questions but assuring me his with me.

Transition

What is hope?
Defination:
Hope, in its general sense, is the anticipation of a future outcome
Christian Hope isnt just in the future outcome but in the one who holds the future.
What is the vision God has for us in future. If we want understand the future we must go back to the garden.

Gods Vision for Humanity

We miss understand a super important concpet right in the beginning if we dont get right we misunderstand the beautiful narrative God is painting.
In the beginning God created the heavens and earlth.
Heaven Means Sky
Earth Means Land
We modern people understand earth as the globe and the heaven as something outside the globe. But the ancient writers where desribling this globe. They called the sky heaven and the land earth.
The ancient writers didnt have a word for univerie so they are pretty much just desribling the earth.

28 So Israel will live in safety;

Jacob will dwell secure

in a land of grain and new wine,

where the heavens drop dew

Genesis 11:4 NIV
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
If you understand this it start to make Gods Vision more Clear of the future.
God created the sky and land and he makes a garden with a tree of life and he puts humanity in that garden to rule and care for creation and God then want to dwell them.
This is Genesis let me Read you revelation. Lets see if there are simillaries. Remember Heaven means sky and earth means land.
Revelation 21:1–6 (NIV)
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
Revelation 22:1–5 NIV
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Similaires
New sky and New Land
God dwells with humanity
They rule and care for creation
They have Access to the tree of Life
Gods Vision didnt fail but its just getting restored.

Transition

How is this connected to what jesus did on the cross and his ressurection?

The Beauty of The Gospel

Paul reminds the church of the Gospel Hope.

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, i and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time

Why is Jesus resurrection is so important?
1 Corinthians 15:20–23 NIV
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
Paul is saying jesus resurrection is so important because its the the sign of what is coming for the church. If Christ is the first fruit then were the banch that follows. Paul saw the resurrection as a sign of our future resuurection Alsomand full restortion.
1 Corinthians 15:42–44 (NIV)
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. .
Paul Hope was because Christ resurrected we will aslo be resurrected to have imperishable, glorious, powerful, spiritual Bodys.
1 Corinthians 15:19 NIV
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
1 Corinthians 15:45–49 NIV
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.
Jesus Compared to Adam
Apostle Paul calls Jesus the Second adam
Through Adam sin came and curing of Sky and Land and the curse of our human bodys.
Through Christ sin was atonement for eternally and heaven and earth will be made new.
God breathed his Spirit into adam him to make him Living being
Jessus breath the Spirit into us to make us alive
We all born the image and likness of adam
Now in Christ we are being transformed into the image of the seond adam Christ.

The Implications of This Hope

Romans 8:14–25 NIV
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Fear is replaced by adoption.
We have an hierance in the coming creation with Christ.
We must share in his suffering in this world so that we can share in glory
We hope patiently because we trust the hope giver.

Conclusion

In the Old testament they celebrated this feast called passover it a celebration of Isreal rememberanceof there freedom from slavery to from Oppression to abundance. That was just a shadow but the true Passover has come through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 22:15–20 NIV
And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
