Accuser? What Accuser?

Why do we celebrate today above all others?
Christ has died Christ is risen Christ will come again!
We celebrate today because Jesus defeated our most feared foe: death!
Friday evening, we nailed our sins to the cross!
Hearing the hammer hitting the nails is a powerful sound. It rips through us with each strike, because we know it’s our sin that nailed the innocent Son of God to that cross.
Then, we saw the powerful sight of the cross with all of our sins nailed to it. It could easily produce an overwhelming feeling of guilt and even self-loathing … if it weren’t for TODAY!
Today, my friends, I proclaim loud and bold:
The nail is no longer in the wood! It has been removed! And your sin was removed with it!
And this morning, the innocent Son of God is risen from the dead!
No amount of sin could conquer our God.
The Reset button has been pressed, so what will you do with it?
Let me remind you of what Jesus would want you to do with it:
John 8:2–11 NLT
2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. 3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. 4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” 6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. 9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
Jesus has not defeated our accusers. JESUS HAS DEFEATED THE ACCUSER! Look around you. Where is the accuser? Will he have the power to condemn you? [NO! CERTAINLY NOT!]
So neither does Jesus condemn you. Go and sin no more!
let’s pray
