Introduction

In this section, Jesus is clearly identified as the Messiah, the Son of David that was promised to Israel.

He is clearly different than any other King.

The point of the passage is to see Jesus, the Messiah, the long expected Son of David as He really is.

Just as the OT prophets Zachariah, Isaiah, psalmist

Different: humble (gentle and lowly in heart)

Presentation of the King

Disciples:

brought it back

put their cloaks on it
