Pride
Proverbs 16:2 ESV
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.
Our pride blinds us to our sin, but the Lord can see it. We think we are perfect, but God knows our deepest thoughts.
Proverbs 16:5 ESV
Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.
Pride is an abomination to the Lord.
Pride is not small potatoes, it deserves God’s judgment.
Proverbs 16:18 ESV
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Our pride brings trouble and suffering upon us.
Proverbs 16:25 ESV
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Just because something seems right to our humanity/culture/intuition, doesn’t mean that it is right in the eyes of God.
Even if humanity thinks it is right, sin still leads to death.
Pride Scriptures
Proverbs 28:13 ESV
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
