Romanos 7.1-6 NTV

1 Ahora bien, amados hermanos, ustedes que conocen la ley, ¿no saben que la ley se aplica sólo mientras una persona está viva

2 Por ejemplo, cuando una mujer se casa, la ley la une a su marido mientras él viva; pero si él muere, las leyes del matrimonio ya no se aplican a ella.

3 Así que mientras su marido viva, ella cometería adulterio si se casara con otro hombre; pero si el esposo muere, ella queda libre de esa ley y no comete adulterio cuando se casa de nuevo.

4 Por lo tanto, mis amados hermanos, la cuestión es la siguiente: ustedes murieron

al poder de la ley cuando murieron con Cristo y ahora están unidos a aquel que fue levantado de los muertos. Como resultado, podemos producir una cosecha de buenas acciones para Dios.

5 Cuando vivíamos controlados por nuestra vieja naturaleza, los deseos pecaminosos actuaban dentro de nosotros y la ley despertaba esos malos deseos que producían una cosecha de acciones pecaminosas, las cuales nos llevaban a la muerte.

6 Pero ahora fuimos liberados de la ley, porque morimos a ella y ya no estamos presos de su poder. Ahora podemos servir a Dios, no según el antiguo modo —que consistía en obedecer la letra de la ley— sino mediante uno nuevo, el de vivir en el Espíritu.

Romans 7:1–6 (NLT)

1 Now, dear brothers and sisters—you who are familiar with the law—don’t you know that the law applies only while a person is living?

2 For example, when a woman marries, the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive. But if he dies, the laws of marriage no longer apply to her.

3 So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

4 So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God.

5 When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death.

6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

-Lo que le da vida a la palabra de Dios es Su Espíritu. (Las palabras que les he hablado son espíritu y son vida).

-What gives life to the word of God is His Spirit. (The words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life).

-Pablo dice que “el primer hombre, Adán, fue hecho ser viviente, y el postrer Adán, espíritu que da vida” (1 Co. 15.45).

-Paul says that "the first man Adam became a living being, The last Adam became a life giving spirit."

-En el AT el Espíritu de Dios le dio poder a la ley, y la ley le dio vida al pecado. En el NT el Espíritu de Dios actúa por el poder de la palabra para darle vida al pecador.

-In the OT the Spirit of God gave power to the law, and the law gave life to sin. In the NT the Spirit of God acts by the power of the word to give life to the sinner.

Efesios 2:1–5 (RVR60)

1Y él os dio vida a vosotros, cuando estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

2en los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo, siguiendo la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia,

3entre los cuales también todos nosotros vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo la voluntad de la carne y de los pensamientos, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

4Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos amó,

5aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia sois salvos).

Ephesians 2:1–5 (NIV)

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,

5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

-En el texto que leímos inicialmente, se mencionan dos aspectos de la obra de Cristo: su muerte y su resurrección.

-In the text that we initially read, two aspects of Christ's work are mentioned: his death and his resurrection.

-Por medio de su muerte, el poder de la ley pierde efecto condenatorio sobre nosotros.

-Through his death, the power of the law loses its condemnatory effect on us.

-¿Cuando nos unimos a Cristo en su muerte?: En el bautismo. Pero el bautismo no solo un rito, sino que es un concepto en nuestra mente que tiene efecto de arrepentimiento del pecado para la salvación del alma.

-When we join Christ in his death?: In baptism. But the baptism in not only a ritual, but it is a concept in our mind that produce a effect of repentance of sin for salvation of our soul.

Romanos 6:3–7 (NTV)

3 ¿O acaso olvidaron que, cuando fuimos unidos a Cristo en el bautismo, nos unimos a él en su muerte?

4 Pues hemos muerto y fuimos sepultados con Cristo mediante el bautismo; y tal como Cristo fue levantado de los muertos por el poder glorioso del Padre, ahora nosotros también podemos vivir una vida nueva.

5 Dado que fuimos unidos a él en su muerte, también seremos resucitados como él.

6 Sabemos que nuestro antiguo ser pecaminoso fue crucificado con Cristo para que el pecado perdiera su poder en nuestra vida. Ya no somos esclavos del pecado.

7 Pues, cuando morimos con Cristo, fuimos liberados del poder del pecado.

3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?

4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.

6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.

-Por medio de la resurrección de Cristo, tenemos justificación, podemos andar en vida nueva. Podemos dar frutos de justicia; es decir, dar un fruto de buenas acciones. (Ro. 7.4)

-Through the resurrection of Christ, we have justification, we can walk in new life. We can bear fruits of justice; that is, to bear a fruit of good deeds.

-“La palabra está viva, porque Jesucristo está vivo”.

-“The word is alive, because Jesuschrist is alive”

-Ahora podemos vivir en la santidad de Dios, no porque las reglas y las leyes nos obliguen a ser santos; sino porque el poder de Dios nos ha transformado la conciencia (un concepto de vida) por medio de Su palabra.

-Now we can live in the holiness of God, not because the rules and laws force us to be holy; but because the power of God has transformed our conscience (it is a concept of life) through his word.

-La santidad es un efecto, es un resultado de la palabra de Dios en nosotros.

-Holiness is an effect, it is a result of the word of God in us.

El nuevo método de Dios

El antiguo método

-En Romanos 7, Pablo dice que ahora hay un nuevo régimen, el del Espíritu. Se trata del poder de la palabra de Dios transformando nuestra vida.

-In Romans 7, Paul says that now there is a new regime, that of the Spirit. It is about the power of the word of God transforming our lives.

-La ley era una imposición que obraba desde afuera de la persona, para dar a conocer el pecado.

-The law was an imposition that worked from outside the person, to make sin known.

-La Biblia dice que “la letra (la ley) mata, pero el Espíritu vivifica”.

-The Bible says that “the letter (the law) kills, but the Spirit gives life”.

2 Corinthians 3:5 (NKJV)

5 … our sufficiency in not from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.

El nuevo método

-Nuestra obediencia no se debe ahora al poder de la imposición de una ley, sino a la decisión en una mente transformada por el poder de la palabra viva, la palabra del Cristo resucitado, la palabra del Dios vivo.

‌-Our obedience is not now due to the power of the imposition of a law, but to the decision in a transformed mind by the power of the living word, the word of the risen Christ, the word of the living God.

Romanos 6:5–11 (NTV)

5 Dado que fuimos unidos a él en su muerte, también seremos resucitados como él.

6 Sabemos que nuestro antiguo ser pecaminoso fue crucificado con Cristo para que el pecado perdiera su poder en nuestra vida. Ya no somos esclavos del pecado.

7 Pues, cuando morimos con Cristo, fuimos liberados del poder del pecado;

8 y dado que morimos con Cristo, sabemos que también viviremos con él.

9 Estamos seguros de eso, porque Cristo fue levantado de los muertos y nunca más volverá a morir. La muerte ya no tiene ningún poder sobre él.

10 Cuando él murió, murió una sola vez, a fin de quebrar el poder del pecado; pero ahora que él vive, vive para la gloria de Dios.

11 Así también ustedes deberían considerarse muertos al poder del pecado y vivos para Dios por medio de Cristo Jesús.

5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.

6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.

8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.

9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him.

10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.

11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

-La ley revela el pecado, pero no transforma, no perfecciona. Hebreos 7.19 dice que “la ley nada perfeccionó”. Es por eso que no somos justificados por tratar de cumplir una ley.

-The law reveals sin, but it does not transform, it does not perfect. Hebrews 7.19 says that "the law made nothing perfect." That is why we are not justified by trying to fulfill a law.

-Es por el poder del Espíritu que podemos hacer morir las obras de nuestra naturaleza carnal, y dar fruto para Dios. (Ro. 8.13).

-It is by the power of the Spirit that we can put to death the deeds of our sinful nature, and bear fruit for God. (Ro. 8.13).

-Ahora no tenemos que servir a Dios por la obligación de la ley, sino por la inspiración del poder de Dios, el nuevo método de Dios, el régimen de la libertad y del amor.

Romanos 7:6 (RVR60)

6Pero ahora estamos libres de la ley, por haber muerto para aquella en que estábamos sujetos, de modo que sirvamos bajo el régimen nuevo del Espíritu y no bajo el régimen viejo de la letra.

Romans 7:6 (NKJV)

6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

-No es que no tengamos una ley que nos gobierne, sino que ya no es la ley de la letra, sino la ley de Cristo, la ley de la libertad y el amor.

-We are not live without a law, but it is not the law of the letter, but it is the law of Christ, the law of freedom and love.

Ahora obedezco a Dios, no porque me obliguen; soy santo, no porque me den una medida o una moda; no peco, no porque me lo prohiban; sino porque he sido transformando y convencido por la palabra de Dios y el poder de Su Espíritu.

Efesios 5:18 (RVR60)

18No os embriaguéis con vino, en lo cual hay disolución; antes bien sed llenos del Espíritu,

Efesios 5:18 (TLA): No se emborrachen, pues perderán el control de sus actos. Más bien, permitan que sea el Espíritu Santo quien los llene y los controle.

Ephesians 5:18 (NKJV): 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.

-Every time that someone receives the Holy Spirit, it is a testimony of the risen Christ.

-Lets allow to God fill us with his presence, to give a testimony that Jesus is alive.

Juan 16:7 (NKJV): 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
