The solution to broken peace is trust in God.
Text
Proverbs 3:5–8 ESV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Big Idea: Trusting in God invites peace in your life.
Eight Action Steps Toward Trust

Choose to be all in with God.

v5a “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
Joshua 24:15 ESV
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Recognize that your understanding of reality is faulty.

v5b “Do not lean on your own understanding.”
1 Corinthians 3:18–20 ESV
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

Worship God in every way you can.

v6a “In all your ways acknowledge him.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV
31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Follow God’s guidance

v6b “He will make straight your paths.”
Galatians 5:25 ESV
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Know who you really are.

v7a “Be not wise in your own eyes.”

Respect God and His authority.

v7b “Fear the Lord.”
Proverbs 14:26 ESV
26 In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.

Do what is right.

v7c “Turn away from evil.”

Receive the promise of God.

v8 “It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”
Conclusion
“The more you understand God’s love and power, the easier it is to trust him. And the more you trust in him, the easier it is to do his will.”
