1. The certainty of Jesus’ resurrection
“But in fact [indeed] Christ has been raised from the dead” (v. 20)

“For I delivered to you as of rst importance what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with
the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.
Then he appeared to more than ve hundred brothers at one time,
most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then
he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one
untimely born, he appeared also to me.” (1 Corinthians 15:3–8 ESV)

2. The certainty of death [in Adam]
“… by a man came death” (v. 21)
“… in Adam, all die” (v. 22)
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely
eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you
shall surely die.”” (Genesis 2:16–17 ESV)

3. The certainty of a future resurrection [in Jesus]
“… by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead” (v. 21)
“… in Christ shall all be made alive” (v. 22)
