# Observations and Lessons from Jesus' Agonies

1. His Focus/Passion – v.32a - "They went to a place called Gethsemane"

2. His Instruction – v. 32b - "And Jesus said to his disciples, 'Sit here while I pray.'"

3. His Buddies (Close Companions) – v.33a - "He took Peter, James and John along with Him"

4. His Distress – v. 33b - "and He began to be deeply distressed and troubled."

5. His Anguish - v.34a - “'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,' he said to them.""

6. His Instruction – v.34b - “Stay here and keep watch.”

7. His Determination – v.35 – “Going a little farther,”

8.  His WishLongingDesire – v.35b – “He fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.”

9. His Relationship with God – v.36a - "Abba, Father,""

Challenge

Present yourself to the Lord and tell Him:

1. I want Your Will done in my life = Total Surrender

    • Not My Will, Lord, But Yours Be Done.

2. I want You to live in and through me = Total Dependence

    • Not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit.
