Proverbs 3:5–6 HCSB
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; 6 think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.

It hits us right in the feels!

Need some input: What are the feelings that people struggle with the most?
Rick:
Not being included, being left out, unappreciated, alone even in a crowd. Take your pick.♥️
Jessica:
Rick , yes! being excluded, not included, or invited is very hurtful.
Rick:
Jessica, when do we realize sometimes others need to be “drawn” in. No one should ever be left to fend for themselves. No two people are the same. People need people too. Sometimes it’s terrible to feel like you are just surviving on a deserted island. Thanks

Someone asked Mother Teresa to name the worst disease she had encountered. Her answer was “loneliness.” God agrees. Aloneness was the only thing in creation that God said was not good (Genesis 2:18).

All of the above!!

Feelings are subjective.

Subjective: 1. based on your own ideas or opinions rather than facts and therefore sometimes unfair
2. (of ideas, feelings or experiences) existing in somebody’s mind rather than in the outside world
subjective adjective - Definition, pictures, pronunciation and usage notes | Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary at OxfordLearnersDictionaries.com
Subjective: dependent on the mind or on an individual’s perception for its existence
New Oxford American Dictionary

Facts are objective.

Objective: 1. not influenced by personal feelings or opinions; considering only facts. ex. - objective truth/facts/reality
Objective: 2. existing outside the mind; based on that [which] can be proved
Example in colloquialism: “Actions peak louder than words.”
Word Origin: early 17th cent.: from medieval Latin objectivus, from objectum ‘thing presented to the mind’, neuter past participle (used as a noun) of Latin obicere, from ob- ‘in the way of’ + jacere ‘to throw’.
Word Origin - late Middle English (originally in the sense ‘characteristic of a political subject, submissive’): from Latin subjectivus, from subject- ‘brought under’, from subicere, from sub- ‘under’ + jacere ‘throw’.
Often, in our own “reality,” the truth is thrown under (subjected to) our feelings.

FAITH is DIRECTIVE.

Faith: 1. trust in somebody’s ability or knowledge; trust that somebody/something will do what has been promised
Word Origin - Middle English: from Old French feid, from Latin fides.
Semper fidelis.

Faith can direct your feelings - drive your emotions upward.

Colossians 3:2 NKJV
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:4 NKJV
4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Ephesians 4:22–27 NKJV
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:29–32 NKJV
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
What you think, you will say.
What you say, you will do.
What you do, you will become.
Romans 12:1–2 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Proverbs 4:23 HCSB
23 Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.

Faith can direct your current facts into a new reality.

Hebrews 11:1–3 NKJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:32–39 NKJV
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,
Genesis 16:1–10 NKJV
1 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. 2 So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. 3 Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. 4 So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. 5 Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me.” 6 So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid is in your hand; do to her as you please.” And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her presence. 7 Now the Angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. 8 And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” 9 The Angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.” 10 Then the Angel of the Lord said to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.”
Hebrews 4:15–16 KJV (WS)
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
