Good afternoon, everyone,
The Topic of All abilities are one that is very dear to my heart and one that makes me proud to be apart of an organization that takes something that is more than a federal law that we must follow but a way of life for so many individuals in our country and in our company. Personally, I have worked for companies that have treated me more like a liability or tax write off instead of someone that can contribute to the overall goals and missions of the company. BBU has taken something that many would feel is strange or a challenge and turned it into something that I can help my community and provide for my Family. My reason for being apart of All- Abilities is special to me because I have autism spectrum disorder and until I was told and treated like I was a person with something to give I felt like I was just an alien trying to shield the things that make me different.
There is a reason why we wake up to tackle our goals and our overall mission of Nourishing the world. We have a growing number of people in this world that are discredited because of something that can be a challenge. All- Abilities provides a framework to give education and resources to everyone in our organization. It truly warmed my heart when people I interact with daily took something that I use to mask and said, “No this is your superpower, and you can be yourself”. When my Daughter started showing signs of being on the spectrum my Manager was supportive and was more of a sounding board and did not discount it. We all are human and being apart of an organization that takes something mandatory and raises the bar makes it hard to not get passionate or emotional.
