Prayer:

Father thank you for letting us come together tonight in prayer and in learning to worship you, I ask that you may grant us ears to hear and eyes to see in your word this evening.

Intro:

This is exciting tonight is the start of the first prayer class. So we are going to spend more time on one topic instead of many topics.
everyone grab their Bibles and go to the book of Isaiah. Isaiah 64:8
Isaiah 64:8 ESV
But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Ok we are the clay and God is the potter. Can anyone tell me what clay is? So it is like playdough?
Who like playdough? (show playdough)
Who is realllly good at making stuff with playdough? (hand out playdough)
What is a prayer request we can prayer for?
Ok can we make that out of playdough?
The playdough was the clay and we were the potter. The playdough listen to us as we command it to be (prayer request)
Just like how we are suppose to listen and obey to our parents and most importantly how are to listen and obey God our Father, our potter for we are work of His hand.
Now what are somethings God command us to do?
PRAYER!

The Middle:

What is prayer?
Galatians 4:6 ESV
And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
Prayer is speaking and listening, we have this relationship with the Father because of Jesus. in Galatians 4:6 we can see how His spirit is in us. Jesus is the bridge between us and God, and with Him in our hearts we can call upon the Lord.
Who knows the Gospel?
Yes because he die on the cross for us now we can have a relationship with God through Jesus
So through Jesus we can have a relationship with who? God
Through Jesus we can have a what? Relationship with God.
Jesus is only way for us to have a relationship with God.
Who knows what the word listening means? To take notice of and act on what someone says.
So listening is when we are in service on Sunday Pastor Hod is preaching and we all are sitting and listening to him.
Now God speaks to us through His word, to bring us comfort, encourage our faith, to bring Him praise and thanksgiving, to glorify the Father in worship.
Where in the Bible can we go to see that this is His word? Turn to 2 Timothy 3:16
2 Timothy 3:16 ESV
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
Here we can see that all scripture is from God.

Request:

We are getting ready to go to prayer together. Lets talk about some request we can pray for tonight. Our requests need to be for the church for this is the reason we are here tonight, to learn about prayer and pray for the church. We can pray for more families, for missions, rest for our elders, for our Sunday school teachers. What else can we pray for?

Ending Prayer:

Jesus thank you for being the bridge for us to have a relationship with the Father, to be here tonight in prayer to lift up the church. I ask the requests we bring to you tonight will be for your will to glorify you. For the new families you want to bring here to the missions your are preparing for us to go, and rest you may bestow on our leaders.
(kids prayers)
Father it say that all scripture is breathed out by you, and what a blessing it is that we get to listen to you. That we are able to bring all of our requests to you, thank you for this time together, we pray all of this in Jesus’ name. amen.
