How Does Satan Cheat Us?

1. Deception

Deception: Satan is the Father of Lies, and he often tries to deceive us by distorting or twisting the truth. He may also use counterfeit teachings or false prophets to lead us astray.
John 8:44 ESV
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

How to spot a someone who is deceived and deceiving.

Look for people who are seeking:
feelings
blessings
experiences
healings
angels
They are only interested in the by-products of the faith, not in Christ
They’re not consumed with the glory, honor, wonder, beauty, and magnificence of Christ
Not consumed with honoring him, loving him, serving him, obeying him, submitting to him, exalting him, proclaiming him, worshipping him, confessing him. THEY ARE ONLY THERE FOR THE BY-PRODUCTS

2. Distortion of The Truth

Satan tries to twist the truth to create confusion and doubt in believers' minds.
Have you ever thought about how Eve sees good things, in the thing that God said would kill her?
It did not matter how good the tree looked, what mattered is what God said about it
We are in a culture that tells you, you have the right to decide what Good is.
If it’s fun – it must be good
If it’s pleasurable – it must good
If it doesn’t harm anybody – then it must be good
We never ask the question, what if it displeases God. Scripture tells us not to grieve the Holy Sprit
The Only PERSON IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH THAT HAS THE RIGHT TO AFFIRM SOMETHING TO BE GOOD OR BAD IS GOD. Because He is God and God is Good
1 Peter 3:15 ASV
but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:

3. Distraction

Satan tries to distract Christians from their walk with God by busying them with worldly things. Scripture Reference
Matthew 6:31–33 ESV
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Satan may try to keep us so busy with activities, tasks, or worries that we neglect our relationship with God and become spiritually unfruitful.
Luke 10:41–42 ESV
But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Self can get in the way of God
Satan distracted Eve from God
Genesis 3:4–5 ESV
But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Does Satan care if you have good morals?
Is Satan concerned if you study the Bible diligently?
Does Satan care if you attend services?
If you study the Bible you can know about God
If you obey the Bible, you can truly know God

Division

Satan tries to sow seeds of discord and disunity among believers to weaken the church
Ephesians 4:3–4 ESV
eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—
Galatians 5:15–17 ESV
But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
