How I Talk Matters to My Life

43“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers. 45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:43-45

19An offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, and disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel. 20From the fruit of his mouth a man’s stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. 21The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:19-21

To Have A Full And Satisfied Life

21The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words makes their lips persuasive. 22Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools. 23A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. 24Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:21-24

2From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful have a craving for violence. 3He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin. Proverbs 13:2-3

12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! James 2:12-13

29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:29-32
