God’s Gifts Of Joy and Peace For You
12And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him”. 13May the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peace, as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:12-13
My Lack of Faith Keeps Me From God’s Joy and Peace Because:
· The [BAD] That I Should Not Do ……. I Do.
· The [GOOD] That I Should……. I Do n’t.
YOU CAN RECIEVE GOD’S GIFTS OF JOY AND PEACE AS YOU TRUSTJESUS
I. By [HEARING THE GOOD NEWS] With Faith.
8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Luke 2:8-10
7Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. 10Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51:7-12
II. By Choosing To [TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT] Through Faith.
15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. Luke 2:15-16
10Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. 11Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. 12Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name. Ps 97:10-12
III. By [TELLING SOMEONE ELSE] The Faith.
17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. Lk 2:17-18
36As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. Why shouldn’t I be baptized?” 38And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:36-39
