Draco Life Celebration
Notes
Transcript
Draco’s time on earth was a lot shorter than we wanted. Take just a second to see the impact of the life that he lived. Look around the room. Draco touched each of our lives.
Wednesday I got to spend some time with Kieth and Thursday I stopped by the house and got to sit with Breanna for a minute.
I have been blessed to see the love these two have for Draco. Breanna was sharing with me about Draco’s smile. She said his face and smile brighten her day. It’s hard for me to even restate because as she described his beautiful smile her face just lit up with joy. She said Draco was such a happy baby.
I remember seeing Draco swinging on Easter Sunday. I watched as his sisters ran over to his swing and constantly want to take him out. They love Him.
The morning of Draco going to Jesus Gigi said something after she got the news. She said, “mommy is that why we learn about Jesus so one day we can be like Draco and go to Jesus?” Breanna said yes. She then said, “Draco is learning about Jesus so we need to keep learning about Jesus”
I took a step back and said that is deep!
This is one of the hardest easiest funerals I have ever had to do.
Easiest
There is no doubt whatsoever that Draco is now in the presence of Jesus.
I feel strongly that I should use this time this morning to comfort you that Draco is not gone but that he is safe. You cared for him well on this earth and take some comfort now that...
Draco is in paradise
43 And He said to him, “I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
No Suffering, No pain, Full of smiles, Full of joy, A place of peace, In God’s love, Ultimate comfort, No worries, No fear, Wrapped in gentleness and kindness, and No separation from Jesus.
Hardest
While Draco is with Jesus, It is hard for us to make sense of our heartache and missing him here.
This pain we are feeling this morning is not how God originally designed this to be.
God designed the first paradise and placed Adam and Eve there.
(Don’t have to use but the description of the garden is beautiful)
Eden was paradise. Food in abundance, trees pleasing in appearance and good for food.
9 The Lord God caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
12 Gold from that land is pure; bdellium and onyx are also there.
15 The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it.
God places Adam and Eve there in the garden to be with God forever.
This is God’s original design for us.
Life, abundance, no death, children, families multiplying, food, trees pleasing to the eye.
Adam and Eve’s heart drift from their first love of God and turn their attention on themselves.
God does a loving thing after their hearts drift from him and places them outside the garden so they don’t take from the tree of life and live forever in this fallen state and as a result death comes.
In that moment God had a plan to overcome this and the plan was for God to give is one and only Son so that whosoever believes in Him does not parish but has everlasting or eternal life.
The last piece I want to share with you this morning is the shortest verse in the Bible.
33 When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, He was angry in His spirit and deeply moved.
34 “Where have you put him?” He asked. “Lord,” they told Him, “come and see.”
35 Jesus wept.
Lazarus had been placed in the tomb and Jesus was about to bring him back to life.
Scripture says Jesus saw his sisters crying and was angry in His Spirit and deeply moved.
Jesus Weeps
Jesus Weeps because he sees the suffering of the family. He has compassion for those who are suffering. Jesus will destroy death
Jesus Weeps because when Adam and Eve’s hearts turned from the father and brought this brokenness and to solve it Jesus would take what we deserved and die in our place.
Jesus Wept
This reveals God’s heart for us during this time.

40 There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is different from that of the earthly ones.
41 There is a splendor of the sun, another of the moon, and another of the stars; for one star differs from another star in splendor.
42 So it is with the resurrection of the dead: Sown in corruption, raised in incorruption;
43 sown in dishonor, raised in glory; sown in weakness, raised in power;
44 sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
50 Brothers, I tell you this: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and corruption cannot inherit incorruption.
51 Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.
53 For this corruptible must be clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal must be clothed with immortality.
54 When this corruptible is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: Death has been swallowed up in victory.
55 Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?
56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
58 Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
21 For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.
22 Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose.
23 I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ —which is far better —
24 but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you.
25 Since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
