Like always, the king acts before he thinks.
Proverbs 15:22 “22 Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”
He is influenced by his pride because he makes a bombastic promise. This was solely to show off.
He is influenced by Esther, pretty women.
He is influenced by alcohol.

Her approach is to play to King Ahasuerus’ own desires.
Matthew 10:16 “16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”
Prosperity gospel preaches do this all the time. They appeal to the carnal things that require no salvation.
She also invites Haman.
She has courage to face evil head on.

He plans on showing off to his wife and friends how great he is.
He is so focused on what he doesn’t have that he can’t appreciate what he does have.
Haman counts everything loss on account of Mordecai. Can we say the same thing about ourselves and Christ? (Philippians 3:8)
Like the king, he listens to bad advice.
