In 2023, Yom Haatzmaut will mark Israel’s 75th birthday. It will take place from the evening of Tuesday, April 25 through the evening of Wednesday, April 26. Israel will celebrate its 75th birthday in 2023.
why is it that, in Israel, Independence Day begins the moment that Memorial Day ends?
“The State of Israel wouldn’t be able to celebrate its existence if it weren’t for those who gave their lives for it,” the IDF explains. “We wouldn’t be able to have one of those days without the other one. We honor their memory and everything they fought for, so that today, we can celebrate our independence.”
Outside of Israel, Jewish communities around the world mark the day by expressing solidarity with the state of Israel and participating in Israel-related programs and events. Many congregations hold a special religious service or add special readings to the Shabbat service that is closest to Yom Haatzmaut.

Israel’s Diamond Jubilee

March 22, 2023
by: Ilse Strauss, News Bureau Chief
📷At 16:00 on May 14, 1948—hours before sunset signaled the start of the Sabbath—David Ben-Gurion banged his gavel on the table to call the 250-strong crowd in the Tel Aviv Museum to order. “I shall now read to you the scroll of the Establishment of the State,” the architect of the modern State of Israel and its soon-to-be first prime minister announced.
It took 16 minutes for Ben-Gurion to read the Israeli Declaration of Independence, establishing a Jewish state in Eretz Israel, to be known as the State of Israel. Those 16 minutes brought to a close 2,000 years of waiting, longing and watching for the promises of God to His people. The Israeli Declaration of Independence ushered in the fulfilment of prophesies spoken by Isaiah, Jeremiah, Zechariah and Ezekiel. The Jewish people had begun returning to their ancient homeland—just as God said they would. A nation was born in a day—just as God said it would.
May 14, 2023 marks 75 years since Israel’s rebirth. In these seven-and-a-half decades, the world had front row seats to God fulfilling a host of other promises spoken by the ancient biblical prophets.
So on this, Israel’s diamond jubilee, we invite you to walk with us through the mountaintops and valleys of the 75-year history of a nation and her people whose existence stands as proof that God exists, that He is faithful and that once He made a promise, its fulfilment is as sure as the rising of the sun.
May 1948 God’s promises fulfilled! Israel reborn!

Coming Home to Israel aliyah (immigrate to Israel)

Isreal is a nation of immigrants, and has 70 major nationalities represented. And It’s commitment to democracy rule of law. 1/5 of the population is Arab muslims, Israel is the only country in the middle east that does not suppress it’s minority populations.
THe Tribe of Dan. Visiting Ethiopia, in the land of Gondar was like stepping back 2,700 years in time. This is the ancient land of Cush, first mentioned in Genesis 2:13, where tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews have lived for generations. Scholars believe they originate from the Tribe of Dan, dispersed by the Assyrians and driven there 2,700 years ago.

Yet the homecoming has historically presented obstacles that have left deep scars of suffering. Between 1977 and 1984, thousands of Ethiopian Jews set their sights on Jerusalem and embarked on foot on the 1,940-mile (3,124-kilometer) trek to Israel with their young children, pregnant women and elderly in tow. They journeyed over perilous terrain and were perpetually hunted by the authorities.
Adani, who accompanied our delegation, was 15 years old when he was part of the first group of Ethiopian Jews to start the journey in 1977. He told us his modern-day Exodus story. They crossed mountains and valleys at night, hiding from the government soldiers who pursued them during the daylight. Many died along the way. Adani’s group eventually reached Sudan, only to face a hostile Sudanese army. They were captured and placed into refugee camps. Nearly 20,000 Ethiopian Jews followed in their footsteps—and met a similar fate. Conditions in the camps were atrocious and thousands perished from disease and starvation, including two of Adani’s siblings. Yet the God of Israel had not abandoned them. He heard their cries (Exod. 2:24) and sent deliverance. In a daring covert mission dubbed Operation Moses, Israel rescued these Ethiopian Jews in 1984 – 1985.
📷
Operation Solomon followed in 1991, within 36 hours Israel rescued 14,325 Ethiopian Jews from Addis Ababa during a 36-hour ceasefire between warring factions—a miracle of biblical, prophetic proportion! They came home to Israel on “eagles’ wings” (Exod. 19:4). Yet today, 32 years later, there are thousands more Ethiopian Jews who wait to make a similar journey to the home of their hearts.
When our delegation boarded our return flight to Israel, we were not alone. A planeload of Ethiopian Jews making aliyah shared the plane with us! When they caught their first glimpse of Israeli soil through the plane window, they burst into singing, praising God as the wheels of the aircraft touched the ground. They were finally home!
The story isn’t over. Last year, 1,500 Ethiopian Jews made aliyah. During the recent trip to Ethiopia, we had the honor of visiting the next group of 1,500 waiting to come. There are thousands more. Israel is committed to bringing all the Ethiopian Jews home, but their aliyah comes at an enormous cost. That is why we will step into the gap to help.
📷
Bridges for Peace is dedicated to fulfilling the call of God to help bring His people home according to His prophetic word (Jer.16:14–15). Christians around world have partnered with us as we come alongside Israel to make this a reality. Jerusalem has pledged to bring the next group of 1,500 home in the coming months, but we need your help to make this happen! We are literally witnessing the conclusion of a chapter of Jewish exile. The Tribe of Dan is returning to Israel—and you can be part of that. We are calling on Bible-believing Christians around the world who love what God loves to take action and rescue the last remnants of Ethiopian Jews in exile. Then we may all praise the Lord that Dan is safely back, once again after 2700 years, in the Land of Israel! Let’s bring them home!

Antisemitism on increase

https://www.bridgesforpeace.com/adl-anti-semitic-incidents-in-us-hit-record-high-last-year/
Friday, 24 March 2023 | The United States saw a 36% increase in anti-Semitic incidents in 2022 compared to the year before, according to a report published by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Wednesday.
The ADL’s annual audit tracked 3,697 anti-Semitic incidents in 2022, compared to 2,717 in 2021, which the ADL noted is the third time in the past five years that they have published record-breaking numbers of anti-Semitism.
The ADL called its findings of anti-Semitism in the US “alarmingly high,” which the group said “requires a concerted whole-of-government, whole-of-society response.” The ADL suggested a COMBAT plan to fight anti-Semitism:
Combat anti-Semitism;
Oppose hate and extremism driven by anti-Semitism;
Make communities safe from anti-Semitism;
Block anti-Semitism online;
Act against global anti-Semitism; and
Teach about anti-Semitism.

The blessing upon Israel

Population growth (of course) - bow more Jesus live in Israel than outside!
Atypical of the population growth rate for a developed country, the State of Israel has a rapid growth rate.
Growth Rate = 1.64% (68th)
Israel has a rapid population growth rate, about three times faster than the OECD average of around 0.6%. With an average of three children per woman, Israel also has the highest fertility rate in the OECD by a considerable margin and much higher than the OECD average of 1.7.

Key economic indicators

The most important economic sectors are technology, manufacturing, and diamond polishing and cutting. In 2022, Israel's GDP amounted to 501.4 billion U.S. dollars, and, according to estimates, it will increase to 611.8 billion U.S. dollars by 2026. Based on economic evaluations, the economy will grow by 6.13 percent in 2022, and it will continue to expand in the following four years, albeit at a lower rate. There is a high probability that economic growth in Israel will be higher than the average growth rate of the European Union countries.

ending a period of Political instability

The State of Israel has endured one of the longest periods of political instability in recent memory. Since the dissolution of the government in December 2018 until the end of 2022, the nation has seen four rounds of indecisive snap elections, one haphazard coalition government made up of incongruent political parties and finally a fifth round of elections with more decisive results.
In November 2022, Israeli President Isaac Herzog tasked stalwart statesman Benjamin Netanyahu and his political party Likud to form a government. This charge was completed with relative ease, as the so-called right-wing bloc of parties won a comfortable majority, collectively securing 64 out of the 120 Knesset (Parliament) seats up for grabs.
Netanyahu published the agenda and priorities of the newly formed coalition government. These include:
Bolstering the Jewish identity of the nation while protecting the religious rights of minority groups
Boosting national security and strengthening security forces in order to fight and defeat terrorism
Continuing to struggle against Iran’s nuclear program
Strengthening the status of Jerusalem
Promoting peace between Israel and her regional neighbors
Combating the soaring cost of living and strengthening the economy
Addressing crime, improving infrastructure and education in the Arab society
Restoring the proper balance between the legislature, the executive and the judiciary
The left went Crazy - claiming this most right-wing government in history and the dangers of ultra-nationalism… as predicted since the left is for a one world government (as does the Lucifer/Satan)
in reality the Uklid party lead by Benjamin Nit is Center-right. and the most centrist party.
some of the politicians are rascals… taking bribes and the like… and the supreme court forced some of them to resign recently.
For now… Israel is run by parties who evidently stand with conviction for the Jewish people’s God-given right to exist in their God-given land.

Because of its location, history and leadership in technology, Israel plays an outsized role in international politics.
While Israel is only slightly larger than New Jersey, its location, history and role in technological advancements has made it one of the most important countries in the world. Israel is located in a particularly complex and precarious region, the Middle East. If there is another world war, it is likely to originate in or at least heavily involve the Middle East. Iran, for example, is relentlessly seeking to develop nuclear weapons. Iran repeatedly has made clear that it intends to destroy Israel. U.S. investment in Israel’s defense is an investment in American security. Israel is helping hold the line against Iranian aggression, and it is able to do so because it has a very strong military. That military is partly funded by the United States, which gives Israel $4 billion a year in security assistance. Pray for Israel

If you are a Christian living in the Middle East, there is no doubt you have a target on your back.
Believers in many Mideast nations are intensely monitored, brutally persecuted and consistently marginalized—especially if they’ve converted to Christianity from Islam.
According to a report by the American Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East:
“The population of Christians in the Middle East is now a mere 4%, down from nearly 20%—or 1.5 million—a century ago …
Iraq’s Christian population has dwindled considerably due to conflict and terrorism. More than 80% have fled the country since 2003. An estimated 150,000 remain, just 0.4% of the country’s 42.6 million population …
“In Syria, the situation is just as bleak, with over 10 million Christians fleeing intense sectarian violence over the last 20 years.”
LRI’s Christ-centered partners are desperately needed by the “few” brothers and sisters who simply want to live and work in peace in the Middle East. Our partners are dedicated to strengthening the Church in Syria, Iraq and beyond …
