Hebrews 10:19 ESV
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,
brothers - Christians
We can approach God in the Holy Places because of his sacrifice. This was never possible before.
Hebrews 10:20 ESV
20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,
new and living way - Becuase he is alive.
through the curtain - it has been torn.
Hebrews 10:21 ESV
21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
since we have a great high priest - someone to represent us and our sins to the father.
Hebrews 10:22 ESV
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us draw near -
true heart in full assurane of faith - We can confidence and assurance.
Hearts sprinkled - with the blood to make us clearn.
evil conscience -
Hebrews 10:23 ESV
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
hold fast - tightly.
confession - to say the same thing.
without wavering - illustration of being rocked back and forth.
WHY? - for he who promised is faithful.
The reason we can hold fast is because God is faithful.
Hebrews 10:24 ESV
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
Let us consider - to give thought to.
stir up one another - encourage each other.
Hebrews 10:25 ESV
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
love and good works - not neglecting to meet together. You cannot do this if you don’t see each other.
Our culture is become more and more consumeristic and in name only.
Encouring one another
as you see the day drawing near -

Why we need community:

Hebrews 10:23 ESV
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
Let us - plural
Hold fast - ILLUSTRATION - Hold things together.
Confession - say the same thing.
of our hope - They were going through a hard time they needed hope.
without wavering -
for he who promised is faithful - when we are tempted to give up. We must remember that God is faithful.

We are stronger together. (Hebrews 10:23)

Hebrews 10:24 ESV
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
and let us consider - think about.
how to stir up - literally poking them. HAHA
to love and good works -

We are better together. (Hebrews 10:24)

Hebrews 10:25 ESV
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
not neglecting to meet together - don’t skip church.
Lit - Leaving others high and dry.
Don’t realize not only are you hurting yourself, you are hurting others.
as is the habit of some -
but encouraging one another - When we meet, we should be encouraging.
all the more as you see the Day draw near - the day is a lot nearer. So we need to be meeting more often.

We are encouraged when we are together. (Hebrews 10:25)
