(Context statements)

5 Key Elements to Jesus’ Claim (v. 25-27)

1. God conceals and reveals according to His will.
We are to approach God with a sense of childlike wonder.
2. Jesus represents the Father fully.
John 1:18 NIV
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
3. Only God fully understands Jesus
Romans 11:33 NIV
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
It takes God to know God.
4. Only Jesus fully understands God
Jesus knows God absolutely.
5. Jesus alone can reveal the Father
The only way to know the Father is through Jesus
John 14:6 NIV
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:9 (NIV)
...Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.
Matthew 11:28 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 NIV
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:30 NIV
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
1 Samuel 17:38–40 (NIV)
Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.
“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off.
Jesus is saying that His yoke is fitted perfectly for you.
Jesus is inviting us to take his yoke and put it on.
It’s an invitation to fulfillment
