Intro

Why do Dinosaurs matter to Christianity?

Because Dinosaurs are typically a child's first introduction into Evolution.

They are a Trojan used by the enemy to begin eroding the Authority of God.

First dinosaur movie I saw was the Land Before time.

If you read any book on dinosaurs. How does it begin? Millions of years ago. When dinosaurs roamed.

So why do Dinosaurs matter?

They are something that fascinates us as humans.

They are something that is often used to to begin teaching children about Evolution.

When we are talking about evolution we are not talking micro evolution. obviously thing change over time.

Look at dogs. you go from Wolf type canine to Panamanian. There is quite a bit of change. In fact that may be evidence of macro evolution. lol

Kidding aside you ca see how things change over time. you start with a canine and you end up with a Wolf and poodle. very different. But they are all dogs.

None of them became cats. That would macro evolution. That is what we as Christians do not subscribe too.

So why do they matter to us? They matter in that they are being used to destroy our trust in God.

All of these story's of dinosaurs and a million other subjects are used to do what Satan did to Eve.

Did God really say?”

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

So I propose to you friends that while the church was speaking feelings, The world was speaking fact.

What are talking about?

My entire life I have been told relationship with Jesus is paramount. Ignore everything else and just proclaim Gods love. Especially when It comes to evangelism.

The cross, the resurrection, were preached always. that was critical. Everything else was secondary.

WHat I have seen happen is that while we as the american church preach Love God, Love people. Jesus is all you need.

The enemy was hammering away at those secondary issues.

Dropping in seeds of doubt after seeds of doubt.

Now the culture gives zero credence to the Word of God. Christians are a bunch of feel good, money hungry, trump loving, racists. My point being this. We lost the culture. It is over.

To walk out and preach John 3:16 is for most the same as listen to a lecture on Microbiology. WE are speaking another language. They cannot hear us.

So what do we do?

Learn to speak a new Language

1 Corinthians 9:20–22 ESV

To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.

Not a new language in the sense that we are altering the Truth

But a new language in the way we present the truth.

If the culture is speaking Spanish? Why would I speak English?

If the culture is Greek, we cannot reach them as

Learn to speak to the Culture with the Truth.

You and I if we are going to reach my kids, your kids we cannot do the same thing that was done 50 years ago. Why?

Because we are speaking one language when the world is speaking another.

If you and I want to reach this community we must learn to speak the same language as the culture around us.

Now when I say language, I am not merely talking English or Spanish, though that would be very important. WE must learn to speak to the questions of their lives.

Where many believers get tripped however is they think that in order to speak to the culture they must alter or change the truth of God to be more palatable to an overly sensitive world.

We cannot compromise the truth of Gods Word.

To compromise the Word of God is to remove the power from the Word. It is to remove the teeth from the Word so nobody is offended. But my friends it is the teeth of the Word of God that transforms a person.

Learn to treasure the Old Truths

Proverbs 22:28 ESV

Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set.

WE have moved the old standards. Some actively, and some passively.

You my generation have grown up in church being told trust in Jesus, don’t worry about the secondary issues of creation, morals. Just fall in love with Jesus and He will take care of the details.

If we are going to transform our families, our churches, and our culture we must learn to hold up the Word of God. It must be our standard.

Learn to Speak with Jesus

Then we must understand that a culture cannot be changed by your beliefs. Cultures, society's, families, individuals, are only transformed by Christ. He is the Author and finisher of our faith.

Its not your job to convince them. It is your job, to trust in Jesus and His Word.

Learn to Declare Truth Boldly

So What do Dinosaurs have to do with the bible? Everything, in the sense that they represent the Ability of the World to use practical history to decimate the authority of God.

So why I have spent 36 years in churches and never heard a single Sermon that dealt with Dinosaurs and in turn evolution?

Here is what I believe is the reason in most situations.
