2 / LIFE AT ITS BESTText: “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Ps. 37:4).I. You Can Have Peace.“… my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27).A. Everyone in today’s world is searching for peace; yet there is war, strife, hatred, and discontent around the world.B. Every Christian can have peace. The peace the Lord gives is the only real peace (Phil. 4:7). It comes with God’s forgiveness.II. You Can Have Power.“But ye shall receive power …” (Acts 1:8).A. The drive for power is universal. Nations seek power to protect themselves and to destroy other nations.B. The Christian who is totally committed to God has supernatural power. The power of God enables him to keep true to the Lord and to witness to others.III. You Can Have Pleasure.“Serve the Lord with gladness” (Ps. 100:2).A. We live in a pleasure-seeking world. People are trying to find something to satisfy the longing and emptiness within their souls.B. The Christian has true pleasure. The joy of the Lord is his delight. His confidence is in the One who never fails.IV. You Can Have Prosperity.“… lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven …” (Matt. 6:20).A. This is a materialistic age. Many are striving only for temporal gain. They seek money, cars, houses, and lands.B. The Christian prospers in the Lord. He lays up treasures in heaven by witnessing and winning the lost to Christ.V. You Can Have Promotion.“… God shall wipe away all tears …” (Rev. 21:4).A. The world is seeking promotion through personal gain and honor of men.B. The Christian will be promoted to the “land that is fairer than day.” There will be no more sin, sorrow, sickness, suffering, or sadness. “For the former things are passed away” (Rev. 21:4).
