You may be seated.
Isaac, we are here today because you and Katherine met, and you both discovered that one person on the earth that you could love, and the could love you, to be your spouse. You did not create that love, you found it, because was always meant to be.
There are several different kinds of love, but Marriage only lasts when we recognize the purpose, plan and providence of God brought you together.
The Apostle Paul commands husbands to have Agape love for their wives:
Ephesians 5:25 KJV 1900
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Ephesians 5:26 KJV 1900
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians 5:27 KJV 1900
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:28 KJV 1900
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Ephesians 5:29 KJV 1900
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
(Provides physical and emotional needs)
Ephesians 5:30 KJV 1900
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Ephesians 5:31 KJV 1900
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Ephesians 5:32 KJV 1900
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:33 KJV 1900
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
He gives us some characteristics of Agape love in 1 Corinthians Chapter 13:
(Chapter 13)‌
4 Love suffereth long, and is kind;
I wish I could say that you would never suffer in any way, but when you do, if you have this kind of love, you remain kind, while you suffer. The Bible says when Jesus suffered “He threatened not”, and we are to follow that example.
Love envieth not;
‌(This means love is not jealous.)
Love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
‌This means love can play second fiddle, it doesn’t need to be the one getting all the attention.
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly,
‌(Dishonorably)
seeketh not her own,
‌This means that love always puts others first.
is not easily provoked,
‌This is temperance in all things.
thinketh no evil;
‌Love does not keep account books of the evil things people do, or the hurts received from them
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
‌Love does not rejoice in the suffering of others, or think they deserved it.l
7 Beareth all things,
‌No load is too heavy.
believeth all things,
‌This does not mean love is gullible, just that it has confidence in the promises of God.
hopeth all things,
‌Expects the best...
endureth all things.
‌But endures the worst.
8 Love never faileth
This means love is eternal.
This kind of love comes only from God.
James 1:17 KJV 1900
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
How can we have that kind of love:
Romans 5:5 KJV 1900
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Stay in the love of God. Go to church. If God blesses you with children, keep them in the house of God. Put Him first, and this kind of love will manifest itself in your life by the Holy Ghost dwelling in you.
Bro. Branham put it this way:
“Hatred had a beginning, so it has to have an end. Love had no beginning, so it has no end. Hatred is forever. Love is Eternal. Hatred begins and hatred will end. Love never did begin and It never will end.”
And when a man loves a woman and marries her because she’s just pretty, there’ll be an end to that. But when a man finds a woman that he loves, he don’t know why, but he loves her.
And she finds a man that she loves, no matter what he looks like. He loves her. She loves him. That’s an Eternal mate in Glory. Death nor nothing else can ever separate them, because they are from Eternity. And they stepped out, in the space of time, and will return back to Eternity. Eternity has dropped down in a body, called time, then goes right back up into Eternity again. It cannot perish.”
