Matthew 27:54 NASB 95
Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
There is a perplexing debate happening in American society.
Two sides debate, argue, and even fight over who is correct.
On one side we typically see people of a younger age, with older generations on the other—but not rigidly so
Some have looked at the empirical evidence and have come to the proper conclusion: it’s Jordan!
Yes, I’m talking about the GOAT debate. Is Michael or Lebron the best ever.
They are both great, but there can be only one GOAT.
A similar debate happens all over the world, but this one carries much greater consequences.
In this debate, eternity is at stake
The God of all time!
In this debate, the answer is Jesus.
Jesus is God…period. It is fact. The world may choose to reject it, but our world regularly rejects truth because it is uncomfortable, inconvenient, or downright offensive. Still, facts are fact, and truth is truth
He is the One!
The eyewitness account of the centurians guarding Jesus speaks volumes to you and I today.
There is only one God, and his name is Jesus

List of baby names each year reveals the continuing influence of the Bible upon culture

Virtually every facet of society and culture have been influenced by the Bible

How can this be if it is all a myth, a fairy tale, or a lie?

Jesus is real

I don’t mean that he was a real man, but that he is who the Bible declares him to be.
He is recorded as being the Son of God, which means that he is deity: he is God.
The Bible tells us the story of God (theology) with Jesus at center stage.
Jesus is the most written about person in history…and second place is not even close.

Jesus is the one most sung about or to in history. (my theory based upon the above)
Jesus certainly lived, certainly died, and certainly rose from the grave.
Biblical accounts and extra-biblical records prove these.
Eyewitness accounts and historical evidence prove He’s real
God’s Not Dead 2 courtroom clip
How can this be if it is all a myth, a fairy tale, or a lie?

You must choose

“Jesus did exist whether we like it or not.: (Bart Ehrman, agnostic philosopher)
Lee Strobel, God’s Not Dead 2, taken from courtroom scene
“I put it this way. Denying the existence of Jesus doesn’t make him go away, it merely proves that no amount of evidence will convince you.”
Lee Strobel, God’s Not Dead 2
Knowledge and belief in the facts is not enough.
Faith is the key.
Society has watered down and redefined faith, but biblical faith is an active trust in and dedication to Jesus Christ.
Faith is far-from passive in nature.
