How God Heals Broken Hearts
How God Heals Broken Hearts
As for you, you planned evil against me, but God planned it for good, in order to do this—to keep many people alive—as it is today.
Blessed are the ones who mourn,
because they will be comforted.
OUR WORLD IS BROKEN.
GOD DOES NOT EXPECT US TO ALWAYS BE “HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!”
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
LOSS & GRIEF ARE A NORMAL PART OF LIFE
GRIEF IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR HEALTH
IF I DON’T LET IT OUT IN HEALTHY WAYS, I WILL ACT IT OUT IN UNHEALTHY WAYS
When I kept silent, my bones were worn out
due to my groaning all the day.
I was mute with silence. I was silent even from saying good things,
and my pain was stirred up.
IT’S NOT ABOUT GETTING OVER IT - IT’S ABOUT GETTING THROUGH IT
I. GOD PULLS US IN CLOSE TO HIMSELF
Yahweh is near to those who are heartbroken
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Your lifestyle must be free from the love of money, being content with what you have. For he himself has said, “I will never desert you, and I will never abandon you.”
II. GOD GRIEVES WITH US
Isaiah 53:3 (LEB)
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows...
Jesus wept.
Isaiah 61:2–3 (LEB)
to comfort all those in mourning,
to give for those in mourning in Zion,
to give them a head wrap instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
a garment of praise instead of a faint spirit.
III. GOD GIVES US OTHERS TO SUPPORT US IN OUR GRIEF
ROMANS 12:5
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
being devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another more highly in honor,
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
HEALING COMES IN COMMUNITY
YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO BE ALONE
