Marge Wade — Obituary
Marge Wade — Obituary
— With great sadness, we announce the passing of our sister, Marjorie Fern Wade on April 22, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
— Marge was born on April 27, 1934, to Roscoe and Violet (Burns) Wade of Thorp Washington.
— She graduated from Thorp H.S. and Central Washington College of Education where she obtained her Bachelor's in Elementary Education.
— She worked in Brewster for 1 year and then moved to Sunnyside where she taught 4th grade at Kamiakin Elementary until her retirement.
— She resided with her brother, Donald Wade, and mother Violet Wade in Sunnyside until their passing.
— She moved in March 2021 to Hearthstone Senior Living in Ellensburg to be closer to her family.
— Marge was a lady of deep faith and a member of Sunnyside First Baptist Church. Her church family was very important to her, and they surrounded her with much love and friendship.
— Working in her rose garden, reading her Bible, teaching Sunday school, and family gatherings brought her so much joy.
— She had a kind heart, loved to laugh, and could be a bit stubborn as well.
— Whenever you asked how she was, she would always respond with, “I’m blessed and thankful”.
— Marge was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roger of Seattle, Donald of Sunnyside, Roscoe of Kennewick, sister Lois Wade of Bellevue, nephew Mike Wade and great-nephew Chase Wade.
— She is survived by her brother Stan and wife Eileen Wade of Ellensburg and sister-in-law Marylee of Kennewick.
— She was a very special Aunt Margie to nephews Ken, Jeff and Brian Wade.
— Nieces Katy, Heather , and Andrea. She was greatly loved by several great and great-great nephews and nieces Ryan, Michelle, Marcus, Olivia, Mason, Gage, Matthew, Alex, Carson, Brennan, Josh, Elisse Aubri, Carter, and baby Declan.
— A very special thank you to her many friends from childhood, church, and teaching. Mary, Lois, Rita, Betsy, Naomi, and many many more whom she loved and appreciated very much.
— Marjorie’s viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday April 29, 2023, at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside WA from 8:30 am until the time of her services at 11:00 am.
— Her burial will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside WA.
Introduction:
Introduction:
— Good morning, my name is Jeff Pagel, I am the Pastor at Sunnyside First Baptist Church. I had the pleasure of meeting, loving, and being loved by Marge through my first 5 years here in Sunnyside.
— Jill, my wife, and I meet Marge the weekend that we candidate here in Sunnyside.
— She was thrilled that they finally had a Pastor.
— From day #1 she laid out exactly what she expected from me.
— “Tell the truth and listen to the Bible, it’s all right here.”
— First Baptist is/was a smaller church but Marge felt very comfortable, liked being a bit bossy and more than often liked getting her way. But we loved her...
— We have an opportunity to try, and I mean try to fill Marge’s shoes. I think we may need several people to fill her shoes. Let me see if i can even list some of the things that she did.
— School teacher
— Sister… Maker of memories, especially around any and every celebration that was at her house. As I talked to the family members. Every Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving was always celebrated at Uncle Don and Aunt Marge’s house.
— Sister-in-Christ… Always willing but never pushed herself somewhere she was not asked to assist
— Church member, church officer, church librarian
— PRAY-ER
--- Voracious reader and student of the scriptures.
— Many or many more things that I don’t know.
— I do know that we became fast friends, she would often tell me or just write a note on a card and leave it with me. Always encouraging. Sometimes there was a but...
— But not usually.
***Before we take some time to worship… [Family Member] would like to say a few words***

Marge picked 3 songs for us to sing today… The first is “These are the Days of Elijah” and then we will transition into The Lion and the Lamb.
Days Of Elijah
Days Of Elijah
Verse 1
Verse 1
These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the Word of the Lord
And these are the days
Of Your servant Moses
Righteousness being restored
And though these are days
Of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice
In the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord
Chorus
Chorus
Behold He comes
Riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet call
So lift your voice
It's the year of Jubilee
And out of Zion's hill
Salvation comes
Verse 2
Verse 2
And these are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh
And these are the days
Of Your servant David
Rebuilding a temple of praise
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are as white in the world
And we are the labourers
In Your vineyard
Declaring the Word of the Lord

There is no god like Jehovah

There is no god like Jehovah
There is no god like Jehovah

The Lion And The Lamb
The Lion And The Lamb
Verse 1
Verse 1
He's coming on the clouds
Kings and kingdoms will bow down
And every chain will break
As broken hearts declare His praise
For who can stop the Lord Almighty
Chorus
Chorus
Our God is the Lion
The Lion of Judah
He's roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is the Lamb
The Lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Every knee will bow before Him
Verse 2
Verse 2
So open up the gates
Make way before the King of kings
The God who comes to save
Is here to set the captives free
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

Message
For each person here today and the many 100’s and literally 1000’s of people that have went through Marge’s classes, came through First Baptist Church… There was a Marge story.
They are very unique and special in there own way. Let me give you a couple
— Marge counted on any given Sunday
- 15-20 people in church had her as a teacher,
- or their children had her as a teacher
They checked books out from her in our library — And she checked to make sure that you had no more than 3 out at any given time
She operated as our financial secretary
She was a fabulous bill payer and keep the church in the black.
Few people really understand what it is to be a sacrifical giver. Marge was a sacrificial giver.
She gave willingly her time, talent and her treasure to bless others.
Well what about now, we know that Marge is in Heaven, IF heaven could be earned… she would be the richest person on earth.
— But Heaven is NOT earned… Heaven and the experience that Marge is experiencing is granted to us by God.
— Our experiences with God demonstrate that we ALL have an accounting to make.
— I’m going to make… not by what I am doing but because who I am doing it for,
— I am saved by Grace through Faith… Marge knew about Grace, she knew about Faith and YES, she was saved.
— Such is the case to those, like Marge who die, “In Christ.”
— What is her reward… What will all of our rewards be because of our faith.
#1 - THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST POSSESS ETERNAL LIFE.
28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
The “I” there is God… He gives us eternal life, He is the only one who can give eternal life… Marge is in His presence… Maybe correcting a finer point of theology
#2 — THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST HAVE FOR A REFUGE AN ETERNAL GOD
— I don’t thing we understand “refuge” the way that God gives it to us… his people.
27 The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy before you and said, ‘Destroy.’
— Yes, he is our refuge, an ever present in times of trouble. The best part in that we get to hang out with Marge and everyone that had faith in Christ.
— Note the warning… “he thrust out the enemy and said “Destroy.”
#3 — THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST PRESS ON TOWARD AND ETERNAL INHERITANCE
Listen carefully to Hebrews 9.15.
Hebrews 9:15 (ESV)
15 Therefore he [CHRIST] is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called [THOSE WHO ARE BELIEVERS] may receive the promised eternal inheritance, [HEAVEN] since a death [CHRIST’S DEATH] has occurred that redeems them [AND US] from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. [BECAUSE CHRIST HAS BEEN TO THE CROSS, ALL OF US WHO HAVE COME TO THE CROSS HAVE COME TO CHRIST.
MARGE WANTED THIS FOR EVERYONE!!!
#4 - THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST TAKE UP A RESIDENCE IN AN ETERNAL HOUSE
— For those in Christ… Our eternal residence to being worked on since eternity past… It is also being worked on NOW and will be WORKED on through the eternal future.
— It is going to be a pretty spectacular kingdom that we inherit.
— Listen to the scripture
1 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
#5 — THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST WILL EXPERIENCE AN ETERNAL WEIGHT OF GLORY
17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
Well… Marge experienced more then her share of “momentary affliction.” Her health in the last few years, had to be on her mind.
I knew something was brewing when I would call and she was not “blessed and thankful” as I talked to her.
After several months and a couple of surgeries… I once again heard “blessed and thankful.”
God somehow… credits us considering the pain and suffering that we have been through.
I AM GOING TO END WITH #6 WITHOUT COMMENTARY.
LISTEN AND THEN JOE WILL COME AND LEAD IN OUR FINAL SONG!
#6 - THOSE WHO DIE IN CHRIST WILL SERVE AN ETERNAL KING.
[NO COMMENTARY]
17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
