1. What did I learn from the event.

you guys are not in the word.

1. a You need to be in the word daily.

3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,

1.c Have a time of Worship

even if it’s Just one song in your prayer time.

2. Why the Purple book?

if you did not grow up in the church you may not have gotten the basics of the christian faith. This book will lead you into the fundamentals of the faith. The fundamental knowledge of the christian faith will give your preaching depth and foundation.
I would like to see you use this book as your personal devotion for a while.
pour over these truths and let the Lord establish you in these things.
you might be saying to me, “I've been a christian a long time, I know all this already!” We all need help articulating these truths. to walk down the steps again is good for us all. even writing this lesson was a good thing for me. I had to sit and think about each of you and what you need to move forward. i needed to boil it down to the basics.

3. Context is king.

We need to get better at finding the context of the verse.
we don't bring meaning to the text. Our messages come from the Text.
you need to be able to tell what the overall meaning. then derive the messenger from the text.
even if what you say is correct but it comes from the wrong text then the sermon is wrong because you mishandled the word of God.
refer to the articles that I included in your notebooks.

4. Start putting all your ministry thoughts in your journal.

Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV
2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
Work it out in your mind.
