Ronny: Welcome to our YouTube channel, Punktlicht where we discuss various bible topics. Hannes, we have quit difficult topic today. What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
Hannes: This is truly a very sensitive subject in our day and age. People really are so strongly opinionated and quickly emotional about this topic.
Ronny: Yes that is why we are going to to stick to what the Bible has to say. Lets leave politics, phycology and feelings aside for the next 15min. Lets just try to understand what God’s inspired word has to say. Lets start at the beginning. The sexual attraction, was this made by God?
Hannes: Gen 2:2424 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Jesus repeats this when He was asked about marriage:
mat.19.4-6 “4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Even Paul repeats it in Ephesians 5:31.
Ronny: The first lesson what we do learn from the Bible is that God did create Man and Women. It is not your choice what you are. He created you as a man or as a women. That is what He did in Genesis and the Creator repeated this concept when He walked on this planet. That He indeed created humans as a man or as a women.
Hannes: And then He said that they should become one flesh. He created sex as an enjoyment, the crowning act of intimacy. To be enjoyed between a man and a women who love each other and who God has joined together. Now that we called marriage. When God were just finished creating Adam and Eve, He send them on a honeymoon and commanded them to full the earth… In our terms, go and enjoy each other, have sex, so much that your kids will fill the earth. I am so sure Adam said… let go… No problem
Ronny: So what did Eve say..
Hannes: I guess, catch me if you can… I don't know
Ronny: Maybe I should ask my wife.. :)
Hannes: laugh
Ronny: God made sex to be enjoyed, and the best part is, that our of this form of love a child is created. Live is passed on. And we experience some form of feeling to create… procreate.
Hannes: Did you know that hetero married couples has the most amount of sex and the most meaningful. Truly blessed by God.
Ronny: God said that this act makes the man and women one.
Hannes: It is so amazing. One fact which we know about science, and yes we said we will not bring in science, but I have to. When having sex the Oxytocin hormone, or better known as the Love hormone is released which binds the couple even more...
Ronny: So this is what Biblical sex is. Any other form is Biblical not correct. No sexual relations with man to man, women to women. Or with and Annimal. Nothing else… It was made for the intemate relation between a man and a wife who are married.
Hannes: Jesus took it even further.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Today we are here to debate on the topic "Why the Bible states that LGBTQ (homosexuality) is not permitted?" As a Seventh Day Adventist, we believe in the authority of the Bible and that it is our guide for life. According to the Bible, God created sex to be between a man and a woman within the covenant of marriage. Any other form of sex was not part of God's plan and is therefore seen as sin.
In Genesis 2:24, the Bible clearly states, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." God designed marriage to be a union between a man and a woman. This union allows for procreation and the continuation of the human race. Anything other than this is a deviation from God's plan.
Homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible as a sin in several verses such as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27. It is important to note, however, that God sees homosexuality as any other sin. Gossiping, lying, and having sex outside of marriage are all equally sinful. We are born with tendencies to sin, but this does not give us the green light to practice them. Instead, we must ask God for help to overcome them. This is the power of the gospel.
As Seventh Day Adventists, we believe in living a life that is pure and holy before God (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). We must strive to follow God's design for our lives, which includes abstaining from any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman. This is not to discriminate against any group of people. In fact, we are called to love all people regardless of their sexual orientation or any other factor. However, we cannot condone actions that go against God's will.
In conclusion, we believe that the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is not permitted. God created sex to be between a man and a woman within the covenant of marriage. Any deviation from this is considered sin. As Seventh Day Adventists, we strive to live a life that is holy and pleasing to God, which includes abstaining from any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman. We are called to love all people, but we cannot condone actions that go against God's will.
