Definition of Unity: Sticking together no matter what
Do not divide our house
Division weakens the unit
Stick and work together
Introduction:
Great things happens when nobody cares who gets the credit
humble, coachable players
Two are better than one (and a cord of three strands cannot be broken)
Ecclesiastes 4:12
Passionate, loving players
A unified team is stronger than its individual parts and a team divided is weaker than its individual parts
Threats to Unity that Create Division:
Losing or winning
Accentuates or masks other problems
Double standard
Favor given to certain individuals
Selfishness/quitting
Personal reasons outweigh team needs
Conflict
Communicate to resolve & build on each others’ ideas
Defining roles but in partnership
Practically speaking for Baseball:
Practice
Peer coaching
Peer modeling
Peer counseling (character coach)
Off the field
Know each other better
Stick up for each other
On the field
Attire
